Hira guest house is a beautiful Newari traditional hotel just 50M from world heritage site "Patan Durbar Square". As per the local people the hotel building carries a history of 700 years where once Janga Bahadur Rana used to stay during his field visit to Patan. The staff at the hotel is incredibly courteous and helpful around-the-clock. We especially appreciate the associate at reception who helped us by virtue of the goodness of his heart, making our stay remarkable. Also thanking Mr. Yelos Raj Bajracharya, the property manager, for his informative briefing of the property's history and culture. Additionally his guitar playing is very stupendous. If you want to get a taste of the local way of traditional Nepali life, I heartily recommend the Hira Guest House. Expressing gratitude to the staff of Hira Guest House for a wonderful experience.

Home away from home

Ive never met more warm and hospitable hoteliers before. I loved the room/whole place so much, it is so charming and quaint with the traditional Newari architecture thats a huge treat by itself to experience a part of authentic Nepali culture and history in this 300 year old building also I cant forget the hot shower + Huge comfy mattress! And just having tea in the courtyard but above all I enjoyed my conversations with Yelos the most. He is so knowledgable about Nepals cultural, art and spiritual history I felt like I got 10 free guided tours without leaving the guest house. And yes it very much encapsulates the feeling of a guest house rather than a cold, corporate style hotel where there is no warmth and personal involvement. I highly recommend Hira Guest House. They helped me with so many things and saw that each guest got the same amazing service and treatment, it was so delightful to stay and I cant wait to come back again.

Very good

Although there is a very busy area nearby, the guest house is located in a quiet spot. Fantastic building, very old. Front windows made of artistically carved wood. Very nice and helpful stuff, they will make you feel very welcome.

As the surrounding area is very dusty, more frequent cleaning would be beneficial.

Unforgetable. A very special experience.

Breakfast was simple and tasty. Location is splendid. At the heart of the old town but incredibly quiet, peaceful. This is a very special place to stay with so much history and charming hosts who will show you the secret ways around and share their local knowledge. Very helpful and so kind. Everything is possible.

The building is hundreds of years old, which is part of the romance so the bathrooms are basic but that was fine for me.

Wonderful traditional guest house . Yelos and the team were so helpful and made my stay very memorable. Including a lot of knowledge he and walking tour of the area . Very authentic experience

Lovely location in historical building and owner is very knowledgeable about local history and helpf

Location was great and staff mostly very helpful. Building is fabulous and you can forgive head height in rooms etc due to history or building.

Bedding was a little tired but clean. Room was quite dark due to shutters being permanently in closed position. No hot water and bathroom not the cleanest. Room/towels/toilet roll/bin not tended to in 3 nights.

Chose Hira b/c I wanted to experience the traditional house. Location is great - super close to Durban square yet quiet as the touristic/commercial activities in the old down quiet down around 8pm. The guest house is going through some fix up (new paint, lighting and decor rearrangement, courtyard clean up etc.), in preparation for the start of peak season starting late Sep. So my one night there is experiencing more of the work-in-progress version. What its lacking in the current transitional state, esp in facilities and services, it is well compensated by owner/operator (Yelos)s hospitality. Born and raised in old Patan, he showed me his favorites of local restaurants, hidden paths zigzagging the old town. He also earnestly shared his journey as an artist and what kind of guest experiences he wants to create for each visitor and was very attentive to what I have to say about where the guest house can further improved. Im confident the future guests will have a great time. Keep up with the good work, Yelos!

Patn is amazing and this hotel really authentic, is a house with 500 years, with incredible confortable beds, you don't hear any noise and is in front of the Golden Temple and Durban Square. Patan Is an incredible place, much more than Kadmandu, i really recomended visit Patn for one por two days and i really recomended Hira Guest House.
