Great hostel to stay

Very nice staff, friendly and very helpful. Location is good, close enough to where I wanted to go. The dorm was cleaned everyday. Trash emptied everyday. Water was provided. I really enjoyed my stay here.

Superb

I spent a week hopping different hostels in varanasi and I must say Gypsy diaries is 10x better than other hostels in the town. It scores for its cleanliness, comfort, facilities in common area, to name a few. Staff is polite and responsible. They also have huge space for car parking. I'll definately consider this place for my next visit and I highly recommend it for solo or group travellers.

Decent hostel and nice beds!

I when I was there it had a Indian wedding party every night as it has a huge event outside. Went on till late, maybe let people know its noisy. Also its a 25 min walk to gangas which I knew before booking.

Comfortable stay.

Only issue is with the place is, its location. Need to get through lot of narrow lanes to get to the place. But whole of Varanasi is like that, there are only narrow lanes- can't complain much.

It's a decent property.

Good staff. Helpful. It's a pretty decent property at a good location.

The bathrooms weren't clean. Common rooms could be a bit more welcoming. Terrace had 2 plug points only with a seating capacity of say 15. For laundry the staff charges 195 INR per kg while the average rate is around 40 to 50 per kg and this wasn't informed before taking the laundry. Everything else was okay.

Well located hostel but poor cleaning.

Its well located , close to the points of interest but in a very peaceful street. The staff were helpful and kind.

The dorm was very dirty. Disgusting with abandoned food even in the bathroom which attracted flyes. There was Garbage under the bed so you can tell they dont clean properly. And stained sheets and blankets. WiFi didnt work much.

Overall the staff was nice and welcoming

For that very high price (around 1000 for a 12 beds dormitory) , even though it was during the most important festival of the city, I would expect everything to be perfect. Yet it was not the case because the dorm was kinda dirty on arrival and the bed sheets were torn.
