Over all, we enjoyed our stay @ GreyFriars! Excellent location within walking distance to the castle, park & food.

Excellent property!

The Toilet, situated below the loft is unsuitable for matured adults to climb up & down the stairs especially in the night.

Very nice and we enjoyed the atmosphere.

We had an upgrade to a junior suite which was really appreciated! Thank you. Room was beautifully furnished and had everything we needed for our one night stay. I liked the L'Occitane toiletries.

The pillow were quite hard and not very comfortable. We had breakfast in the hotel restaurant and found the staff to be quite slow. For example, I asked for oat milk for my tea. My pot of tea was brought to the table quickly, but I had to ask twice for my oat milk, by which time my tea was not as hot as it could have been.

It was a magical stay at this hotel. Greeted on arrival and had a perfect super large room. I stayed to eat the first night and the food and service was amazing. Breakfast was the best I've had with such a large choice. Will definitely be back.

Comfortable hotel in pleasant surroundings a short walk from the Castle and Colchester Town Centre.

Comfortable, had everything we required in the room. Quiet surroundings even though it is close to town. Good location with parking.

Fantastic as always. Another visit to the greyfriars, when in Colchester visiting family we always stay here. It's a fabulous hotel. Staff are exceptional and facilities are top level

Luxury in a prime location - Perfect!

The most beautiful property, so well looked after! Staff are so attentive - couldnt ask for more.

If I had anything negative to say it would be that our room was slightly too warm and would have loved to be able to turn the aircon on but this was disabled to heating only.

Fleeting visit

Loved the whole feel of the place. Beautifully decorated for Christmas, stylish furniture, spacious room, comfy bed, amazing shower and fantastic breakfast. Caring and attentive staff. We felt very welcome. I didn't want to leave!

The only thing I didn't like was the green light on the ceiling at night. It didn't allow for a dark room and therefore struggled to sleep. I'm sure if I'd rung reception they would have covered it with something but I was already in bed when I realised as I turned out the lights.
