This is the best place I've stayed at. They allowed late check out at 20 which is incredibly cheap considering we left at 4pm. The staff were so friendly and amazing. Sainsburys next door for ultimate convenience and shops/market are only a few minutes away. The room was warm and very quiet. The free water and prosecco was a nice touch. Would 100% recommend.

Location ok, price and quality poor, have stayed in nicer places in York for less money

Room have a bad smell, all 6 breakfasts cooked on first day were sent back as everything was cold and undercooked, not much better on second day and again returned uneaten, limited choice behind bar, no mixers for shorts etc

We arrived at the property on December 29th as you can imagine it was very cold outside. When we got into our room we wished we were back outside as it was freezing. The radiator came on around 5pm but only like warm with the instruction in the welcome book that we can adjust the heating with the TRV on the radiator lol. I'm a heating engineer and I'm fully aware that the TRV only opens and closes dependent on the room temperature and does not adjust the temp of the water running through it which was set on a low temperature at the boiler. We woke in the morning freezing and did not use the shower because it was that cold. We went for breakfast and equally cold throughout the building. We will not be going back I'm afraid.

Excellent hotel and fantastic location The Gentleman that met us was absolutely brilliant, cannot fault the service in anyway!! Apologies I'm unaware of the Gentleman's name but solidly made our trip so much better and would 100% recommend and stay again!!
