Friendly and helpful staff, a lot of frindly animals in the common zone, great area to relax, fast wifi, simplicity of the place and ideal location

I loved the place, but the antimosquito filters in the windows could be a great improvment

Langkawi stay

The location, It is very close to Cenang Beach. The atmosphere is awesome in the evening time,Must spend some time at the reception.Receptionist uncle is also a good man.Last but not the least If you love a cat, you will love this place . Overall, nice stay. I stayed there for 2 nights in the mixed dormitory.I met Nobert, Oscar, and a few more new people there.

They shut down the room AC in the morning for some time, At that time, you have to manage with fans. And the dorm beds are so noisy.

Come for the cats

Perfect location, right by the beach. We ate everyday in Bella restaurant which is behind the corner, the food was amazing and affordable. Lots of automatic laundry machines nearby, which we appreciated after 2 months of traveling. We stayed at a wooden cottage, which we requested before coming. The cottage was beautiful, comfortable. A lot of friendly cats live in the guesthouse, which is only a bonus. Drinking water available anytime.

Staff were super helpful, Chief helped us plan our Langkawi itinerary and gave great suggestions on where to visit, along with information on all the local food markets happening during our stay. Rooms were basic but clean and common area is great for chilling or even remote working with plenty of table space, hammocks and chairs to relax in. Location is also great, a 5 minute walk from the main beach. Motorbike rental shop also right outside the property with decent prices.

Our only issue was being woken by other guests talking loudly and playing music very late at night, as most of the private rooms are right next to the common area. Not the property's fault at all, and they do have signs saying quiet time after 10pm but as no staff are present after this time it was unfortunately not enforced.

Feels like home

Superb! Feels like home! The owner (and his staff also) takes care of the travellers like dad, helps with everything and gives hints. Gecko is one of the oldest guesthouses in the island, so they know what they do. Good location: a short walk to the main beach, and nicely in the garden full of kittens. Common area/bar with hammocks.

11 out of 10 from us!

Loved this place so much; just wish wed booked for longer. Had the family room which was spotless with fab facilities, great air con, WiFi and the most comfortable beds weve had throughout our stay in Malaysia. Chief, on reception, is super knowledgeable about the area and we booked a great mangrove tour through him at reception. Its really family friendly and the kids loved the big communal, outdoor / undercover lounge. The location is second to none. Off the main drag enough to be peaceful but close enough to be anywhere you wanted to be within a few minutes. If we make it back to Langkawi we wouldnt stay anywhere else! Thanks guys!
