Fantastic experience

Absolutely loved our stay! The room had a bath tube with was a huge plus. The views from the room were stunning! The bed was very large and comfortable. Great noise isolation, didn't hear our neighbours at all. They didn't have the parking on premises, but just a few steps away there is a huge secured public parking (costs around 15 Euros per day, but it's super convenient as the parking in Taormina is complicated). The location is fantastic as well, just a few steps away from the main street. The staff was helpful with luggages. The room had slippers, bath robes, and everything we needed. And did I mention the views? Amazing experience.

The only con was that we were staying on New Years eve. They had an event with the dinner but it had to be booked in advance (we couldn't find any info about it in their website). Sadly, there was no place left to have dinner in the hotel for the guests, which felt unthoughtful. Other than that, it was an exceptional stay.

Great Spot

We were so glad the hotel had a valet because parking there is impossible. The location is amazing, right at the entrance of the village. Wish they had showers instead of bathtubs though since I was traveling with older people. Also great little balconies with views on the Etna. The breakfast was great too, with tons of options. They also have a pretty cool bar with live music.

The rooms decoration is a bit outdated, but it is clean and very spacious.

Excellent vistas of Mt Etna and the sea

The Excelsior has an excellent view of Mt Etna and the sea. And the location at one end of the historical city center is perfect for walks and for visiting the Greek theater. The breakfast offerings are extensive and well prepared. The front desk is an excellent source of suggestions for walking tours, and very accommodating to requests. We highly recommend this hotel.

There is parking for small vehicles only.

Stunning view from the balcony, staff very friendly.

Room's are dated and the tv is very small. Breakfast wasn't particularly brilliant, especially for a four star hotel.

Bad smell and terrible mattress

The room is a good size and clean, the location is wonderful, and the view of the Hotel is beautiful.

It is an old Hotel and that is not the problem, the situation is that it is very poorly maintained, it smells like an old place, the mattress is horrible, and extremely uncomfortable. In addition, I needed a boat to stretch a blouse and they told me that they didn't have one, only They have a dry cleaning service, in the restaurant for breakfast, the chairs lined with fabric have dirty edges. It's time to invest in improving furniture and fabric covers.

Breakfast good, location very good

Bathroom disaster, toilet too close to wall, could not sit comfortable. Flashing does not perform well, wash hand basin not fixed properly. Room needs an update. TV very small.

Best location in Taormina

Brilliant location, could not be better. Right at the entrance to the pedestrian area of Taormina within very easy walking distance of all the sights, main shopping street, restaurants, bars etc. Valet parking is a great asset. Breakfast was fine, terrace outside hotel great for drinks and views. Swimming pool is beautiful, albeit a little bit of a walk down the hill.

Room a little tired but has everything you need. Evening external bar service poor.
