From past experience I know this is a wonderful place to stay. This was not our experience this trip.

After a long travel day we arrived at the hotel ready for sleep. Our usually quick check in did not happen because we were told our reservation had been cancelled. As she stood there for a few minutes looking at her screen I thought she was finding us a room. I finally asked her if she had a room for us and she said no. This reservation had not been cancelled by me so we were quite upset.

I will be staying here again

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing, and the reception in the afternoon was nice too. The room was large and very comfortable. We come into Anchorage for shopping once every 3 months or so. This hotel is a great place to stay. You have plenty of room to keep totes. Check out isn't until 12. That extra hour helps a ton when you are trying to get things organized before the flight back home.

The hotel has a bit of wear and tare, but nothing is horrible. It didn't affect our stay, but it was worth mentioning to new guests.

Poor

Was woken up at 5am by security because they received a call that the water in our room was running all night. Despite me telling the security through the door no water was running they still insisted on entering the room anyway. Not the experience I would have expected for paying nearly $400 for a room.

Meh.

The facility was clean, and the breakfast was good.

The room was in dire need of refreshing. Peeling paint, holes in the wall, and the bathroom door was broken at the bottom hinge, requiring you to push on it with your foot if you wanted it to latch. The beds were literally the wrong thing I have ever slept on. I couldn't sleep through the night and eventually slept on the couch.
