Eleven Hotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 11

Restaurant VERY poor. Equally fab staff but totally out of their depth. NY Eve, ordered two starters at 8pm, partner's arrived 20.15.. after asking where my starter was on 3 occasions (on its way..) my starter arrived 21.25. We did manage to share a main dish prior to restaurant closing 22.00 but the drinks got totally screwed up. At this hotel, Booking.Com boast their customers can enjoy a 20% discount on food and drinks. But, not on this occasion. The bar staff know very little about their convoluted Happy Hour restrictons and would often offer the wrong advice. Okay, it took a while but, for booking.com customers, here is the actual rules for Happy Hour. Wine, not included in Happy Hour, 20% discount not included, even when you ask - simply, don't buy - too much hassle. Beer, during Happy Hour, buy 2 get 3rd free, 20% not included during Happy Hour Beer at non Happy Hour times, 20% not included even though it should be. Cocktails during Happy Hour buy one get one free, 20% discount not included Cocktails outside Happy Hour 20% discount should be included but isn't. We didn't buy any spirits but, safe to say..., they should be discounted by 20% for booking.com customers but are very unlikely to be - and not included in Happy Hour.. Nightmare. Needless to say, because of staff incompetance, we chose not to tip. Instead, we approached a fab guy in reception to explain the chaotic bar prices. Eventually, we were offered a couple of free (2 for 1 probably...) cocktails. We simply said all of this overcharging would have been staff tips and we don't want the cocktail, and to please share our cocktails with all if the bar staff who have earned no tips from us.. Okay, we were a bit angry. Overall, with the wine and beer, consumed outside Happy Hour, not only did we not get our 20% discount, we were then charged an additional 10% service charge and 7% vat on top of the 20% we should not have paid in the first place.
