Reviewers Mention About Duke Street Boutique Hotel

Guests praised the Duke Street Boutique Hotel for its great service, nice rooms, and convenient location. However, some mentioned the need for extra effort in cleaning to prevent dust allergies. The (Read More)staff was described as friendly and helpful, and the rooms were noted to be comfortable with modern amenities. Some minor issues were the lack of heating in one room and a strange smell on the ground floor. Overall, the hotel was recommended for its value, location, and welcoming staff.

Very good
Very good
The hotel was clean and felt safe to stay in. We were upgraded from the sister hotel on Duke Street due to works commencing on that hotel and were advised this was a 'massive' upgrade. The hotel chain is lovely, we really enjoy staying there when we got to Liverpool, you know exactly what you get and it looks modern and fresh. The view from our room wasn't good and we were advised it would be, we looked out over someone's unkept back garden. The bed was two single beds pushed together which we did fall in between during the night. Staff were really friendly and helpful on check in. The location isn't as central as Duke Street but still within walking distance of the centre with great surrounding amenities. All in all, we will definitely be back, but probably at the Duke Street, not the Baltic :).

Pleasant
Location was great but could have done with more floor space in the room
It was central to town
The bed was too big for the room and there was not enough floor space to get dressed.

Central location

Disappointing
Not exactly a boutique hotel
Not exactly a boutique hotel - a real stretch of the imagination to call it that. Floor had someone else's toe nail clippings on it and to control the temperature you had to ask a staff member to go in the corridor housed boiler room - most odd so one room was freezing and one was baking hot. Blinds had a mind of there own and went up and down by themselves. Most odd.

Passable
Welcoming staff; very noisy night; terrible sleep
The location was excellent as its right in the centre of the city in an area I love. The staff were all friendly and cheerful. The bed was comfortable.
I had probably the worst nights sleep Ive ever had in a hotel. Until the early hours of the morning there was constant to-ing and fro-ing outside my room, with doors slamming, suitcase wheels on the wood floors, the lift beeping and the automated voice of the lift all audible from my bed. I could very clearly hear sounds from other rooms including a loud TV from the room opposite. I realise the hotel cant avoid selfish guests but I believe the lack of carpet in rooms and hallways and gap under the room door exacerbates the transference of noise. I dont know what constitutes a boutique hotel but everything seemed pretty standard to me.

Good
Nice accommodation just off the city center
great location on the south end of the city center. Some great restaurants and bars within walking distance. About a 15 walk to the shopping area. Check in was fast and the staff welcoming. Room although small, had all the necessary facilities. Shower was small but good flow. Windows gave good insulation from the street traffic below. Good transport links - within 150m there is a bus stop that takes you to the airport. Great caf bar right next to the property called Petit Caf du Coin - great cocktails and live music.
bed was not comfortable , soft and lumpy. As mentioned room was small , not an issue for me, but might be for others. There is no room cleaning service as such. They do it every 4 days , which again was not an issue for me and they did mention you could get new towels or other items at reception, again i was fine with that , but others might see that as an issue.
