Great property with good facilities only let down was service quality

The property design and location. Has a lot of space and is well designed. Even though it was a high occupancy time we didn't feel crowded and felt like we could roam around without problems.

Hotel service was sub par. Could have been for several reasons being new years of high occupancy. - Staff didn't arrange airport pickup - no person to talk to about recommendations or itinerary planning. - The room was cleaned only twice during our stay. Even though we kept the clean room sign on. Realised on the last day the light doesn't work.:/ so might not be their fault completely. - the buffet was ok. The local dishes are good everything else was subpar

We had a stay in dec 2023 . The resort is beautiful. The rooms were large, clean, well setup. We were welcomed with a traditional band of flute and drum.We had the room facing the beach and pool. The hospitality by staffs were good. Had their buffet dinner and breakfast. A wide spread of buffet , totally value for money

They had a cultural show during my stay there , however it was held at 8pm, I think the timing should be adjusted as that is preferably time for dinner as well. There was also a brief dance show at the pool side, I manged to see from my balcony, I wish I was informed on the show so I could have a better view Even so I loved my stay

This hotel set the bar in terms of down south hotels in Sri Lanka

Large and excellent service. It is in the middle of a beach and lake with plenty of things to do for a few days. This was the bar. Its great for a family or a couples vacation.

Not worth the money

Proximity to beach and nice pool bar. Nice staff

Overrun by mosquitos in the rooms, food area and closed bar / lounge. I have not experienced anything like this in other hotels in Sri Lanka / Bentota. Extortionate prices and the price at check out with tax and one additional night was 3x the price I booked it for. There are better hotels in the area for half the price. Had it not been for a wedding, I would not have booked here. It does not feel like a 5* property.

Horrible damp on walls. Not great service

We went for a wedding at the property which was hosted on Sunday 22nd October therefore we stayed over at the place

There was damp and mold in the room. It wasnt just me however a lot of guests complained about this. I was there for one night and my daughter was sleeping so did not want to move her. Due to this, she was coughing and wheezing and so was I for an asthmatic. I have stayed at cinnamon grand in Colombo but this is the worst hotel. This is not good for kids and not safe at all. We contacted reception to see if rooms were available next door to us as we were friends who also had children so we can be close together. Reception said they will check and get back to us however they never got back to us. The service was not great. At check out I complaint about the damp, the manager stayed it was due to the rain the night before. I own several houses in London and rent them out and I understand rain can be an issue however not suddenly overnight. I have taken pictures and so have my friends and family with their room and this is not something that happens overnight. This happens over time and you can tell they have tried to paint over it and not sort the issue out.
