Minor issues: Only Outdoor shower available which was Hard to use due to windy weather, but bath tub inside; appliances little rusty

We had three fantastic days at Amakhala Game Reserve, Bush Lodge. The tents were very comfortable and the food very good. The game drives were amazing. Our game driver Jono did a super job. very enthusiastic, very knowledgeable information given during the drives and he was fantastic at spotting the animals and very dedicated to making sure we saw as much and varied as possible.

We had a fantastic stay. Couldnt have asked for more !

The lodge was everything and more than we were expecting. The tents are amazing , comfortable, well equipped, clean and just beautiful staff are attentive, friendly and smile all the time. They made you feel sooo welcome. The rangers are passionate and knowledgeable and make the drives spectacular!

STAY AT THE WONDERFUL BUSH LODGE!

This place is AMAZING and by far the best game reserve I have stayed at. The staff were incredible and our ranger AJ was just the best. If youre as lucky as us, youll see Rhino at the watering hole whilst youre showering! The food is absolutely delicious and the drinks dont stop coming. I left a tiny piece of my heart at Amakhala :)

The whole experience was really special. The food was top quality, and the staff were brilliant. The bed was HUGE and the tent, and we loved that on occasion the bath was run after cold game drives and the bed could also be heated. Our game drives were so enjoyable, we saw 3 out of big 5 but lots of amazing other wildlife along the way. We had an assorted of weather which made it adventurous but we were glad to see the sun on our last 2 game drives as the reserve, and the main lodge, looked totally different and very beautiful!

We weren't sure whether the first night just set our expectation too high but on the 2nd night we didn't feel the 'special' touches were there, however on the 3rd, they returned! The tent itself, though amazing, was tired in parts. Our outdoor shower didn't work that well, nor the WiFi (which isn't too much of an issue as its good to disconnect, but some might find it to be), the back door was a struggle to open/close, the one plug near the mirrors also didn't work. The tent, although is meant to be traditional, didn't feel totally clean in all areas.

A perfect first safari!

I absolutely loved everything about this stay! All of the staff were so attentive, friendly and professional. They really made me feel at home. All of the little touches and attention to detail were so appreciated and made the stay extra special. The setting was idyllic, the tent was lovely and comfortable and the food was delicious. The game drives blew my mind. I still cant believe all of the animals we were able to see. I kept track and we saw 62 different animals over the 6 drives! The interactions were just incredible. That was thanks to Jono Vision! Jonos passion and enthusiasm for the animals and his commitment to making sure we were well taken care of was next level. This was my very first safari and the bar has been set high! Thanks to all who made it such a great stay!

Excellent - we definitely recommend!

We had the most wonderful stay at Bush Lodge, with memories that we will cherish forever. A special thank you to our Ranger, Roan, who went over and above for us on each and every game drive. It was wonderful to be guided by someone not only so knowledgable and passionate about what they do, but also so genuine and kind. We also loved the walking safari that we booked easily with the central reservations team. Again, our guides were extremely knowledgeable and it was really interesting to learn about the plants/tracks/insects that we would ordinarily speed past on a game drive without a moments thought. We paid extra for this, but it was a real highlight. The food was generally good. Some lighter options would have been appreciated, however we enjoyed trying some traditional African cuisine. We hope to be back!

It was my partners birthday on one day during our stay, which I had mentioned both by email ahead of our stay and to front of house on our arrival. However, this was overlooked. I wasnt expecting any fuss or a freebie and Im sure many other guests are also celebrating whilst they visit, however the lack of any gesture at all was disappointing.
