Superb

Great place to stay

The room was spacious if not a little chilly being in the top floor/roof. The staff were fantastic and helpful. I would recommend. We stayed as a family of 3. Breakfast was superb and I would recommend adding this on to your stay.

Huse disappointment on the last night of 2023

Good pub grub at dinner although not what I expected from the website. Staff friendly enough

Room was supposed to be upgrade for which I paid more. It was poor. Damp stains on wall , double size duvet for a king size bed. Worst of all no hot water in the evening and no heating this morning. It was freezing. We simply got up and left. I wasnt prepared to give them any more money for breakfast in a cold dining room

Basic accommodation with a few things that let down the rest.

The evening meal and breakfast were spot on - freshly cooked and hot and perfect - but quite expensive for what they were. The staff were friendly and chatty - although lots of different staff at different times of day.

The bed was creaky and noisy and not comfy - so rest wasn't great. The shower was electric - it was on max power and hottest setting and the water was only body temperature. Fixtures and fittings had been replaced/modernised - but not painted after - so although were functional - quite ugly. I was the only customer overnight for breakfast - there was no one at reception - but the chef did arrive at the time I'd stated I would be there for breakfast..... which was freshly cooked.

Ok for a nights stay

Locality for Crathes castle

Could be doing with a refurb. Rooms were basic some parts falling apart but comfortable enough for a nights stay. We asked for rooms together but this wasnt honoured until I requested again as there was a vacant adjoining room to the other. The first room I went to the ceiling was taped up looking like it was about to cave in. Beds arent made properly, all beds are very unkempt sadly. Worst part was pulled duvet back to find hairs all over the sheet and mattress stains showed through the white sheets. They did accommodate and move me to the adjoining room which was appreciated. Didnt like how we were just handed our key cards with no welcome, explanation about WiFi, food or anything else. Wouldve been nice just to have a bit of welcoming etiquette. I felt like all efforts go into the bar and theres not enough balance across the hotel. Given that the ratings are continually being upped by Mackenzie giving scores of 10 over and over, its not giving a true reflection of the accommodation. So when guests book theyre going to be highly disappointed and under score again. Be honest with your reviews please Burnett Arms.

Weekend away

I stayed here while at a training course. The Burnett arms in Banchory was a hidden gem thank you for making my weekend, I'll be back , the staff go out their way for customers. I felt like i had know them for years, the room.was perfect gor me, clean and comfortable, the bar had a great atmosphere, fun and relaxed , food was lovely too was pool area to xx

There was nothing I didn't like. Can't wait to go back , beautiful area and lovely place
