best quality/price ratio in Bora Bora

The apartment is very close to the main road, actually within the property of the owner family (separate building). Best quality/price ratio one could dream of in expensive Bora Bora. Sophia is very knowledgeable about Bora Bora, and she gave us very good tips about the dos and don't on the island. In particular, the excursion to the banyan and Bora Bora marae suggested by her was a great occasion to learn about the authentic Bora Bora, beyond the touristic bling-bling. We rented a small electric vehicle to easily reach Matira (it's possible to walk there from the apartment, but walking on the edge of the road is not pleasant) and tour the island.

Probably the best value for a quiet, friendly, new and clean accommodation in Bora Bora!

Lovely hosts, always available for you. It felt like we spent time at a good friends' place, although the location of the studio at the back of their property provides some independence. Probably the best value in Bora Bora! Plenty of good tips from Sophia and Franck, notably for hikes, excursions, etc. Sophia helped us pick up some things with her car, and was extremely accommodating, for which we are very grateful! You also get a small but appreciated % discount with Avis, from whom we rented a scooter, which is a nice way to discover the island (we reckoned the bikes were too slow and the cars too cumbersome given the size of the island, as opposed to Mo'orea). Excellent bed, and relatively quiet setting, away from the main road, which helped me sleep like a log (admittedly, unless you sleep with earplugs like me, you may hear some cocks or dogs from far away, but it is the same for all the islands in French Polynesia). Brand new and clean. Good room temperature (in June), the ceiling fan helps. Plenty of storage. Bonus: You get one of the greatest experiences in Bora Boara by using the 30% discount they offer on the parasailing activity (as it is actually run by Franck, Sophia's husband). And do yourself a favour, go for the 300m rope, 25 min ride!

I did see the "angry review" that was posted by another user. Even though I cannot deny that some "delighters" that I discussed with them are coming (and I trust Sophia and Franck to get them done), like a curtain or a door between the bathroom and the main room, a splashback behind the stove or very small things like as a dish rack or usb sockets, you need to go there with the right mindset, i.e. you are spending time at a new and clean friends' place, but if you come with an arrogant and elitist mindset, then you should probably rather just go to one of these impersonal resorts and pay the price for it! As for us, we will quite certainly come back!
