Very good

We would definitely stay again.

Gorgeous building. Comfortable bed with fresh linen. Warm rooms. Lovely shower. Helpful staff. Very good breakfast, made to order, great coffee. Simple dinner at the Birnam Inn next door.

Adequate for one night, would not stay longer

Lovely old building with loads of character and lovely staff, it was also clean.

Character did not extend to the room which was dated but not in a good way. Whoever furnished it obviously was on a very tight budget. Room was cold, one radiator only under drafty sash window which was then hidden when the floor length curtains were pulled. Bed frankly knackered.

Lovely hotel

Lovely hotel,I liked the black and white photos of Birnam they had on display. Staff were polite and friendly. Not many other guests but that's expected at this time of year.

Some stains on the mattress protector. Otherwise the room was very clean.

The location is good!

Beds were very uncomfortable! The rooms are clean but need updating! Shower was pathetic!

The character of the building

Birnam inn could do with more character. Perhaps a log burner in the bar and restaurant would add to character and add much needed heat. Very cold, also music would add to a bland atmosphere.

Good Old fashioned hotel ideal as a base for exploring the area.

Nice traditional old fashioned hotel. Good standard of cleanliness with friendly helpful staff. Would have no hesitation in returning here again in the future.

Place was eerily quiet due to it being off season. Never saw another person at breakfast. (staff apart). No local shops to go into. You have to go over the bridge to Dunkeld. Not a huge distance but not convenient. Neither of the "negatives" I mentioned have anything to do with the hotel itself.
