When we arrived, the elevator was broken. I had injured my ankle that afternoon and was faced with the choice of ether going up the stairs on my butt, or taking the broken elevator, which may or may not have gotten me to my floor. That still let the matter of our luggage to be dealt with. I was traveling with my companion for a hockey tournament for disabled players. My companion, who is autistic and has coordination difficulties, was forced to struggle up and down the stairs multiple times as he was fearful of being stuck in the out-of-order elevator. The front desk staff did their best to try to help accommodate us by looking at first-floor rooms, but none of them had 2 separate beds. The front desk staff allowed me to use the out of order elevator to get our heavy hockey equipment bags up to our room after advising me that it might not go up, might stop, or might malfunction at any time. Luckily for us, it did work, and I was able to use the elevator rather than crawling up the stairs. Another disappontment was that the hotbtub was not working properly during our visit. We brought it to the attention of a staff member, but he was not able to address the situation and seemed to have difficulty understanding what we were trying to explain to him. The hottub jets were so strong that when I sat next to one, water went up and over my head. I could not sit in front of a jet because when I did, water was sprayed all over me, as well as the other people sitting in the hotbtub. The hottub water was the same temperature as the pool water. There were several people trying to enjoy the hottub, and everyone had the same complaints. While the breakfast spread was tasty, I wish there had been vegitarian sausage or soy bacon available for my vegitarian companion. Overall, the staff who I worked with were amazingly kind, understanding, and helpful. However, that does not make up for the malfunctioning facilities.
