The hotel boasts cleanliness and a convenient location near the city center and central station. Guests can enjoy a delightful breakfast each morning and appreciate the festive Christmas and New Year's decorations adorning the lobby, adding a touch of holiday cheer.

The area around the hotel has a somewhat gritty ambiance, with red-light establishments contributing to its rough character. It's unexpectedly different from the more polished of the other side of the central station. Nonetheless, the neighborhood boasts its own perks, including a variety of authentic restaurants that offer a taste of local flavor. However, enhancing front desk service friendliness (particularly the male staff) and including little amenities like toothpaste and a toothbrush in the rooms would improve the experience.

Fine for location and when you have a Junior Suite/Suite yet avoid the breakfast.

Unfortunately our room wasn't ready by check in at 3pm, yet after waiting another 45 minutes we were upgraded to their suite which was pleasant and spacious.

The breakfast was unfortunately of poor quality with all the cheapest ingredients available. Fine, if you want to stay in a basic hostel yet very poor for the money when staying in a hotel.

While the hotel itself was clean and comfortable, there were a few aspects that I found disappointing. Firstly, the shower gel in my bathroom was completely empty. I didn't ask the reception staff to refill it, but I would have expected the cleaning staff to check these things as part of their routine. As a guest, I shouldn't have to ask for basic amenities like soap and shampoo. Secondly, the breakfast buffet was quite limited. I've stayed in other 3-star hotels that offered a much wider variety of options. I would have appreciated a bit more choice, especially considering that the hotel is classified as a 4-star establishment. Finally, the area around the hotel didn't feel very safe. I noticed a significant number of people who appeared to be homeless or intoxicated. This made me feel uneasy and I wouldn't feel comfortable walking around the neighborhood alone at night. Given the issues I mentioned, I would hesitate to recommend Arcotel to others. While the hotel itself was fine, the lack of attention to detail and the subpar breakfast buffet were disappointing. Additionally, the unsafe area around the hotel made me feel uncomfortable during my stay.

The hotel manager would NOT work with us at all as we are in the middle of a natural disaster with flooding of the Aller river. we were not able to get out of the village and we wanted to help the older people who had no way to prepare for the flood. I would have made a future reservation or ANY consideration- but even with 24-hour notice - AS IF YOU CAN PLAN FOR A DISASTER - allwe got was "declined" and "No Show " as if we did not matter everyone should know how awful the Arcohotel Hamburg was to us

Excellent stay in the heart of Hamburg

The hotel is 10 minutes away by foot from the main train station. There is a grocery store across the street. There is plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. The room was spacious and quiet. It was very convenient to have a kettle and a small fridge in the room. Sauna was available free of charge, but one needs to get a card for it at the reception. The breakfast was very tasty with lots of savory and sweet options.
