Alibaug Castle

1. The location: It is more than 1km from the Nagaon beach. 2. The road which leads to this castle is a one lane unmaintained and broken road with fields on both the sides. If one vehicle comes from opposite direction then another vehicle need to go reverse !!!! 3. It doesnt have any in house restaurant. Plus no app based food delivery delivers there. So, for any food or beverage you need to order and then atleast wait for 1.5-2 hours to get it delivered. Food quality of that restaurant is average and it doesnt operate between 4 to 7 pm!!!! 4. No study/ dinning table was available on deluxe room. So you need to eat either on ground or in bed. 5. Play ground is not maintained. 6. No resturant in the radius of 800 meter!

The property is actually just one small building inside a gated community of residential and commercial buildings and there was no signboard anywhere on the building or at the gate bearing the name "Alibaug Castle". Also, there were no signboards anywhere on the approach road showing directions to the property. Due to this, we had a hard time finding the place on the first day. When we mentioned this to the caretakers, they said there used to be a signboard on the building but it crashed during the rains. Sure, so how about putting it up again? Given that all rooms in the building (there are only a few actually) are on the ground floor, we were surprised to see that there were no safety grills installed outside the room windows, only sliding glass shutters. We felt this was a security risk, especially because we also didn't see any guard posted at the gate. We were two adults and one child. We were provided an extra mattress but without an extra bedsheet, pillow, or even an extra blanket. When we asked the caretaker for an extra blanket, he refused. The approach road to the property is very narrow, barely wide enough for one car, and winding through a village and fields. So good luck if you have another vehicle coming from the opposite side on this road. We had a hard time every single time we went out in our car. Larger meals like lunch/dinner have to be ordered at least an hour in advance from a restaurant outside the property and you need to tell them the name of the caretaker every time. Once we told them "Alibaug Castle" and the delivery boy couldn't find our place for 2 hours. Again, thanks to the non-existent signboard. The property is not very close to Nagaon beach - you can take your car to the beach but parking there is not abundant, especially during peak season. We didn't like Nagaon beach much (black muddy sand and over-crowded), so we spent one full day at the much better Kashid beach, 1 hour drive from Nagaon.
