Bad service, non-proactive staff and unhygienic food
While the room provided a comfortable bed and enough space, I found it to be adequate, meeting the basic expectations of a 5-star hotel. I anticipated a more exceptional experience considering the rating.
My stay at this hotel unfortunately resulted in a very low rating for several reasons:
Firstly, my confidence in the hotel's food safety was shattered when both my girlfriend and I fell severely ill after consuming meals here. Despite expecting a higher standard due to its 5-star rating and catering to international guests, we suffered from food poisoning post-checkout. Such an experience eroded our trust in the hotel's food hygiene practices.
Secondly, as tourists eager to visit landmarks like Borobudur and Prambanan temples, we anticipated guidance or assistance from a renowned international chain like Marriott. Regrettably, the hotel lacked proactive support or information on securing temple tickets or arranging transportation. Misguided by the hotel staff's assurance of ticket availability at the site ( even though I told them that it was sold out online), we ended up wasting valuable time and money on a futile trip, as the tickets were indeed sold out.
Lastly, the gym, equipped with an air-conditioning system, bafflingly did not utilize it, neglecting the comfort of guests in Jogjakarta's warm climate.
Overall, our experience was marred by food-related concerns, a lack of proactive assistance regarding local attractions, and inadequate amenities. This fell short of the standard we anticipated from a 5-star hotel under an esteemed international brand like Marriott."

I really liked this property because the rooms were very spacious and comfortable, and the hotel had an amazingly pleasant scent, seriously! Additionally, the staff were all so friendly and always smiling, which added to how good this hotel is. Oh, and its convenient location next to the mall makes it so practical; if there's no plan, it's easy to relax at the hotel or head straight to the mall for shopping.

Amazing location and best hotel in Jogja
I left our passports at our room safety box and only realised when we already arrived at the airport on the way to Bali. I called the hotel and hotel staff called Ariez was so helpful sending our passport by expedited mail to our Bali hotel where we were staying. Thank you!

The restaurants were great! Nice food at affordable prices. Great staff who did so much for us. Superb location. The hotel made the whole yogyakarta trip worth while and memorable.

once again, Marriott has just the most amazing staff working for them and there breakfast buffets will go down in history
rooms have bad insonorisation: could hear my neigbores talking and baby crying all night. Its not Marriotts mistake but Yogjakarta is a horrible town. So its great to hide in a luxury Hotel oasis. Lucky for booking.com that THEY have such an easy and fast website. Because even for Marriott members, Marriott Website is a desaster. Thank you booking.com to think like a guest when you make your Website and NOT like a IT nerd. You deserve every cent usless Hotels have to pay to you

apart from the faults mentioned, it was great
It is what you would expect of a Marriot, mostly it was a great stay, fantastic aircon, good bathroom, good location, great staff
There were 2 broken lights, one in the bathroom which kept blinking all night, impossible to turn off and one right above the bed which was also on all night with no chance to turn it off. It really disrupted our sleep. The bed, while wide and comfortable, was very short, my feet were at the edge of the mattress which also was not really helping with sleep
