Very Uncomfortable

Proximity to the city is great and the volunteer staff is very friendly.

The place is very unhygienic! Observations: swarm of ants crawling in the kitchen, washroom reeks and need some ventilation fans. During peak summer the dorm rooms get very hot and uncomfortable to sleep in (even with winds). The dorms have poor ventilation and the hostel provides only a fan per room which is little to no use depending on your bed position. I stayed in the hostel for 3 nights and woke up every morning at 4 or 5 am due to sweat and suffocation caused by poor ventilation and heat in the room. The rooms could use some comfort upgrade (even for a hostel) which is more suited to the weather condition of the area.

Great atmosphere, central location

We stayed in a room located next to the common area/bar so quite noisy in the evening, but noise would shut down at reasonable hour (around 22h-midnight)

Pleasant Stay Because of the Staff

I liked the scenery quite a lot as it had the view of Table Mountain. I also liked the assistance we got from the staff because the place wasn't really quite to our expectations but the staff made sure that they assisted us in whatever way possible and that we get to at least enjoy our stay there at Villa Viva.

I didn't like that they had pets at the place and they were no restrictions on where they could go cause those pets were even in spaces where we were eating. My family also didn't like one of the beds we got cause it was too high up and was a bit too much to deal with. My family also didn't like that the rooms weren't cleaned, the bedding wasn't changed and that there wasn't meat at breakfast
