Favorite place to stay to date!

The room was very comfortable and dog friendly while being very clean. We were in room 8 which had great landscaping. The partial view was not great due to weather and angle but the wind in the plants was nice. the breakfast options were healthy and fresh at delivery every morning.

We didnt want to leave the room. Well worth the cost and would stay there again.

Outstanding attention to every detail in our room. Loves the fireplace, attentive staff, and the great delivery of breakfast every morning.

I have stayed at hundreds of hotels and resorts over the years and can honestly say there wasnt anything I didnt like about the property. One minor thing, perhaps trim the tree behind unit 8 to enhance the ocean view.

Very good

Beds were comfortable. Lights over the beds had dimmers. I was able to use my Fire TV Stick to rent movies to watch on the TV. The staff were so nice!

The lighting over the table and chairs was not conducive to reading. We would have preferred a chair with a reading lamp in addition to the table and chairs which were good for our breakfast. Also, kids were up and playing in the garden area at 7 am, waking us up early.

Very good

Very nice but with a caveat

Loved the quiet location thats still walkable to town. The common areas are great with waterfall, tables, fire pits and seating are very nice. The staff are very responsive and friendly.

Next time we stay here I will ask for a top level room. We had some people above us that were very loud and when they walked it sounded like pounding on our ceiling.

Disappointing

Great location, not so great customer service.

The location is great, walkable to downtown and the beach, it was pet friendly which was a plus

The rooms need some updating including the TVs. The in room breakfast was not great no half and half and the coffee tasted like ash. We came 10 years ago when they had a room for breakfast please bring that back. There was no fitted sheet on our beds the first time in my 40 years Ive experienced that.

Superb

Boutique hotel that offers a more sophesticated aesthetic

Carmel-by-the-Sea is riddled with small charming boutique style accommodations. All of them are unique, but the Tradewinds I find is the most modern and updated as far as design aesthetic goes within a reasonable nightly rate. The rooms are updated, the property is minimal with a buddha fountain and outdoor tables if you want to enjoy a glass of wine or your hotel breakfast, but a majority of your stay should be visiting the beaches and walking about the town.

They were short on the amenities and could offer a few more in-room toiletries, but I get that there is a movement towards sustainability and less waste -- which I appreciate. Other than that, I have returned to this hotel 3 times over the many road trips I've taken.
