For one , we were not provided with room heaters . Even on request I was simply told that we do not provide . Now this is quite strange . That place experiences cold . I was given the option of taking another quilt which I did . But that is not the same as having a room heater . Even the Mandakini resort run by MP tourism provides . The room therefore was very cold . It was a large room and a cold room . We should have opted for the smaller room , it might have been warmer maybe .
Then, in my opinion , in todays day and age hotels need to be more Eco friendly and geared towards sustainable practices . Here the bathroom had a large range of disposable toiletries starting from the dental kit and comb to shampoo etc . Now maybe the management thinks that it is an added thing that they are providing but in my opinion this is all old fashioned today . Soap , shampoo and moisturiser are more than enough . Rest is all plastic waste !!!
The front desk also needs calling up twice for any request to be attended to ! Wonder why !
Since I try and avoid drinking from packaged water bottles , I requested for normal water which was provided . But after drinking two glasses of hot water , I noticed chlorine powder deposit in my glass and a good amount of that . Almost one third spoon . I was shocked !!!! I realised then that the sore throat that I had got was because of this chlorine that I was drinking . I sadly shifted to the packaged water but by then the damage had been done ! I am still not totally cured .
And most importantly- before booking please ensure that no wedding is happening on your stay dates . We could see that weddings take place regularly there and if your stay coincides with one , then you are bound to stay up half the night with all the band baaja baraat :) fortunately there was no wedding when we went .
Apart from the above , its a nice hotel with clean rooms with a nice garden and a good option for your stay at Chitrakoot !
