A pleasant break in York, would we say here again? Yes

The property was clean, the reception area was all decorated for Xmas lovely, we had to use the trade entrance as the front was flooded but wasnt a problem, the room was a good space with plenty of room for suitcases etc, had everything we needed, the staff were friendly in the reception and the restaurant, the breakfast was lovely and so was the meal

The hairdryer being old school and fixed in the bathroom, but apart from that nothing to complain about

Our bed was uncomfortable as the springs were broken But after speaking to Reception it was solved very quickly and we moved rooms

Nice journey, good memories

Location is very close to York city center. You can visit all museums and attractions easily from here. The staff was really careful about us: we were in York for 2 nights. They informed us that river will flood and there is a risk to cancel our 2nd night at the hotel. They explained that those measurements are for safety reasons and that they will take care of us (refund the night and help to book us another room in another hotel with similar cost if needed...) The day after the river's level was ok to spend one more night so it was good news for us first and we were really amazed how the stuff follows those information and do care about different details.

Location is at once good and bad: it is next to the river which is a risk during winter especially if there are lot of rains. Risk of floods is big which makes it a risky plan sometimes...

Great hotel with the personal touch.

Fantastic location close to all the city attractions. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was usual buffet style so luke warm but tasty and the chef offered to cook fresh eggs :-) Room was spacious and warm, bed comfortable, basic hairdryer provided. Great little bar area overlooking the river. Breakfast area / bar was never crowded so felt very personal and cosy. Great little hotel despite the river overflowing and the car park being flooded - alternative parking was given a couple of streets away at a discounted rate.

No plug points near the bed for charging phones.
