Great place to stay if you have booked for a party!

Location, old style lovely!

Unfortunately they had Christmas parties on both nights we stayed! The second night was very noisy. The staff seemed a little unaware when we claimed it was noisy at midnight. In the morning the suggestion was that we should have asked for a quiet room! And they had no way of knowing that our booking was not connected to the party. They did refund the previous breakfast bill as we declined breakfast for Tgat morning and refunded the parking bill, which was good of them but little sleep is unacceptable, but accept the manager tried to reimburse.

Die to the the fire alarm an scaffolding I felt extremely uncomfortable and unsafe staying here

The staff at the Met Hotel were professional and we came across no issues with the staff here. The hotel was a grade 2 listed building so the building was visually beautiful.

Unfortunately when staying on the 02/01/2024 the room I stayed at, Room 414 was something I would not have paid for. To whom it may concern my recent stay at the hotel made me and my partner extremely uncomfortable and makes me question the integrity of your company. When I first checked in, the fire alarm was intermittently going off for around 30 minutes, and I was told that there was a fault with it. I then got to my room and noticed scaffolding right next to the window. Neither of these were initially problematic until I was woken up by the faulty fire alarm at 8 the next morning. This then kept going off for around 45 minutes, which suggests that I spent my entire stay at the hotel, with a faulty fire alarm which is very dangerous! To add insult to injury there were also builders who could see right into my window giving me absolutely no privacy. This is not something I would expect for a hotel that cost 60 for one night this was a planed anniversary with my partner which turned out to be extremely disappointing.

The lobby was cute.

Little dated. Just unfortunate that everyone had to evacuate due to fire alarms and then the fire alarms going off for quite a while when we were allowed back in.

Worst nights stay ever

Location

We arrived at the hotel to find a fire alarm had gone off so the entire hotel was evacuated the we waited outside for about 30/40 minutes only to let in and then the fire alarm continued into the night. Then at around 9am the started setting the fire alarm off again. Honestly would have gotten a better nights sleep in the streets. No apology and no refund for a god awful nights stay. Shocking

1 night was enough and wouldnt stay there for any longer due to the creaking issues cleanliness and parking fee

The location was close to the shops and bars The rooms were big and the staff were friendly

The pillow cases had stains on them , the floorboards above our room creaked really bad and was kept awake by the constant creaking by the guests pacing up and down The 20 overnight parking fee was too expensive and I didnt see it mentioned in booking .com it only stated there was parking first come first serve

A bit sad and dirty

The location was good

Bed and bathroom were dirty (really dirty, bloodstain on one pillow, brown crust around the glass at the bathroom, the windows had never been cleaned and spiderwebs on the lamps), the toilet did not flush even when holding for long, the very old and used up carpet over old wood floor was very uneven to walk on, very old room, needs a renovation! At 9 in the evening the fire alarm went off. We were evacuated, stayed outside for a bit. The fire brigade could not find the reason so we were let back into our rooms, where the fire alarm went off every two minutes for another hour, the same.the next morning from nine o clock on repeated fire alarms
