The Kensington Hotel received positive reviews for its stunning Grand Ballroom, helpful staff, delicious food, smooth room block, and great Sunday brunch. Superb

Home for the Holidays & The Kensington was a gift!

The location is perfect due to its accessibility to I-94. It is also right across the street from the mall and several restaurants. The room was well-lit and the bed was comfortable. I also loved that they were able to accommodate my requests (high floor, away from elevators and ice machines). That level of customer service was certainly appreciated!

The bathroom could use some updating and I feel like it wasn't as clean as it should have been due to my having found stray hairs in the shower, a chip on the toilet lid, and the grout around the tile being less than stellar - that was a bit off-putting at first blush. Finally, the pillows are extremely soft. If there were a way for guests to have firmness options, that would be fantastic.

Bring bug spray and an ultra-violet light

We loved the front desk staff. They were very sweet. The hotel was very quiet.

It felt more like camping with all of the different species of bugs we encountered. The pool had silverfish and poop in it and there were ants crawling on the pool deck. The water was murky. Needless to say, my kid was super sad. We also had to change rooms when we arrived because our first room was dirty, stool left in the toilet, and a white crusty substance on the lounge chair.

Slightly disappointing

The highlight of the visit was the pool. Very nice to be able to enjoy a warm swim in such chilly weather.

My first night the room we were given had no ac/heat. When I went to the front desk the poor girl attempted to explain but obviously didnt understand why exactly the room didnt have heat. I was upset because clearly they knew about the issue but didnt say anything till I came to complain. I was given a dirty space heater. Room stayed chilly as a space heater just isnt enough for this weather. The next morning Katie resolved that issue for me very quickly by putting us in another room. A comfortable enough stay after that was taken care of till I was loading my things in my car and returned back to the room to use the restroom, etc. and maintenance? had already entered into the room and acted like I was crazy for being there. Asking me what I needed. It was around 8 am. I was under the impression checkout was 11. Weve stayed here before with no issues its our preferred hotel when we come to visit but I saw a decrease in the quality this time Im very unhappy with.

It looked pretty. The bed was as comfy as the one I own.

Oh boy. Everything else was like staying in a cheap motel off the highway, except they've got their noses in the air about it, and they don't serve breakfast. Those little things that are listed on their website to make the price worth it? A glass of champagne checking in, fluffy robes, bottled water in the room, nice TVs, breakfast? Yeah, it has NONE of that. None.
