Hostel Shangri-La

We stayed here because of the good reviews on Booking and Google but when we were there in October the place was empty and we were the only ones staying there which felt slightly odd and the place felt slightly deserted. The communal areas were not very clean with full bins and dirty clothes lying around so we wouldnt have wanted to use them other than the roof terrace which had great views. Only the manager spoke English which meant communicating with staff when he wasnt there quite difficult. We asked the manager about booking a bus to our next location and helping us get a tuk tuk but he told us to do it ourselves. The shower had hot water but we werent shown how to use it until the second day and then it wasnt very hot. The room was nice and bed was comfortable. If youre looking to meet other people, I wouldnt recommend staying here.
