Guests enjoyed a delicious lunch in the garden room with awesome food and welcoming staff, but service was a bit slow. They had a lovely 2-night New Year's break with beautifully decorated rooms, del (Read More)icious food, and helpful staff. They enjoyed using the indoor pool and spa, but experienced some delays in service during dinner. Overall, they praised the hotel's timeless elegance along the seafront.

Location, grandeur and old style service Staff that were there were Excellent

2nd January is a difficult time of year for hospitality so at Breakfast they were slightly understaffed meaning hot meal took around 30 mins as well as taking ages to order. Food quality was only average for the meal. Salmon was not fresh at all . As I said above it may just have been the day of the year. Building needs updating its looking tired. Pool to external pool walkway, Main Dining Room . Bedroom TVs need updating at probably cost 350 per room. I love the S curve 1960s or 70s classic Bar.

Fabulous location across from the beach, an easy trip back in time and fantasically prepared meals; but book parking on

An adventure back in time, a fabulous upgrade, delicious meals and proximity to the beach.

The parking available is sparse, so highly recommend booking with them in advance, or you end up using street parking. While the old world ambience is great for most areas, the bar could definitely use a makeover.

We had an excellent weekend the The Grand.

The concierge staff were very helpful, I would like to name Tony in particular as a considerate member of staff who went beyond the call of duty.

There were refurbishments in the breakfast room and staff levels couldn't cope with the queues for breakfast. That was unpleasant for those queuing and for those sitting by the queue.

A brilliantly run and presented hotel

A beautiful old Victorian hotel that provides excellent surroundings for a relaxing stay. The public rooms are stunning closely followed by the guest rooms. I would make particular mention of the staff who are very helpful and attentive.

The hotel was a good distance away from the town centre and be prepared to take rainwear if you wish to visit the shops. The cost was on the high side but the quality of the hotel made tgat cost worthwhile
