The George had friendly and efficient staff, with a beautiful building in a convenient location. One guest enjoyed a spacious, quiet room with a comfortable bed and lovely amenities, while another fo (Read More)und their room too small and dark. Despite this, they were kept awake by a noisy heating unit and had limited space for work. Overall, the hotel was deemed safe and within walking distance of the town center.

Good location, nice hotel ideal for a short break

Really nice decor, great location and really friendly staff

A little noisy as our room was right by the stairs to the diner, pillows a tad uncomfortable but I suppose its all personal preference

Superb

Home from home.

Full of character. Staff extremely helpful on my arrival and made sure I was fully catered for. Marta (hope I spelt that right) was extremely helpful. Will most definitely use again.

Comfortable stay but lacking in areas

Was nice, comfortable and warm. Breakfast was very nice.

No bar or communal area where you can have a drink or snack in the afternoon/evening. Room decor was a little dark and dingy

Would defo stay again, loved our stay!

The location was great. We loved the style of the hotel and decor, breakfast was amazing and we loved meeting other guests dogs at breakfast. The room was big and the shower powerful! The bed comfy and all clean. Staff friendly and helpful.

That there was no bar but it didnt spoil our stay as theres loads near by.

Looks good but doesn't deliver the requirements normally associated with a Hotel

The staff were excellent and the breakfast facilities were very good, they cooked to order so everything was as it should be. The location is excellent and from the outside the Georgian elegance is very inviting.

For a hotel NOT to have a lounge area for the residents is beyond belief, to think you have to plan to stay out all day as to go back to the hotel to relax in the lounge with coffee / afternoon tea etc is just not possible!!! and to stay in your room with uncomfortable chairs and a very limited TV selection ( unless you pay ) is not feasible The 2nd major omission is that the Hotel does NOT cater for lunch or dinner is beyond my comprehension especially as the breakfast facilities are so good.
