room small but well furnished and everything you need jane was very welcoming and helpful, and clear in her information access arrangements were simple and straightforward

early information might have been clearer that you are directly over a pub. it was fine for me. but other people may not like the ambience. but the rooms were definitely much better than pub rooms

Great location and a room that feels like a small apartment.

Really nicely designed room with comfy bed and excellent shower. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. The location is perfect - right in the centre of York - which means that parking is paid of course. However, it was a lot more straightforward than expected; the cheapest car park is just over 5 minutes walk away, but there is a car park behind the property. Id highly recommend the Bootham Tavern, and would certainly stay again.

Gorgeous, quaint little tavern with extremely friendly and helpful staff, good quality drinks and food, and an all round

Very well kept, cozy and clean little tavern

Window was very loud in our room when the wind was blowing, although the wind was incredibly strong so its nothing you dont expect with an older building such as this one

Was ok for one night

Good location , friendly staff, nice breakfast.

Shower was leaking onto the bathroom floor, towel rail didn't work in the bathroom, and needs a new toilet seat. The underneath was very worn. And breakfast was extra, but we knew that before we went and paid in advance .
