    Position is excellent
    The bathroom in our room was old - mouldy cracked tiles. Although its advertised as pet friendly, it is not at all, we have a small dog in a carry bag, she was not allowed anywhere but had to pay a 30 per night?

    We were not disappointed in any way.
    We have visited Cascais on many occasions but not stayed at the Abatroz, we decided to correct that on this trip. The location and views across the ocean from the dining room are spectacular. If we had one disappointment it was that not all facilities were open, but then it is off season and that was to be somewhat expected, it did not really impact our enjoyment in any way. The room was comfortable and well proportioned, I read that some people have complained about the showers being too small, but TBH that did not bother us, after all it is not a big modern hotel and the water pressure made up for the lack of space in the shower itself. Breakfast was very good, more than enough selection to fill us up for a day exploring Cascais and the surrounding area. I would not hesitate to book again.

    There are two taps on the wall of the bathroom just next to the door that I mistook for decorative towel hooks, this switched off the cold water to the shower and it took me some time to work out what had happened. Luckily my wife was not using it at the time. A note would be handy to warn guests (Room 211)

    Could have been better the shame is it was a lot better
    We thought the room which we booked was too small so we upgraded to a suite at a cost of an extra 190euro per night.
    Since our last stay at the hotel it has been refurbished. We found that a lot of the character had been removed. The restaurant has a French chef we think it was a lot nicer when a Portuguese chef was employed. We go to France for the experience of the country likewise Portugal. Please bring the sparkling wine back to the breakfast buffet.

    Great location and views small unheated bathroom disappointing
    Wonderful location with stunning views
    The bathroom was small with no form of heating and in need of refreshing - not 5*. Also the window of the bedroom was not properly closed so on arrival the room was cold(as it was December). We did not notice this as the turndown service closed the curtains making the room draughty overnight.

    Rooms need to be updated: Power outlets in guest rooms not instep with modern life. Bathrooms modernization as well.
