Needs major upkeep

The staff was amazing - this is the only reason any stars at all. The woman that checked us in was so friendly. Every interaction with the staff was very pleasant. The woman that ran breakfast was kind and attentive. It is in a good location to walk to UVA

The hotel itself is in extreme need of repair or even general upkeep. Our room was old and dingy at best. There were large stains on the carpet, holes in the screens and and a mouse in our kitchen. The lobby bathrooms were flooded all the time. The rate I paid was too high for the quality of the hotel.

Unhappy with the stuff

Horrible place!! Very unpleasant stuff. Rude and with a horrible attitude! Place wasnt the cleanest! Requested sofa bed and never received any additional sheets! Went right down to thee front desk because they never picked up the call! And the person gave me nasty attitude while I charged for it and had to carry it upstairs on my own!!! On top of that I got double charged ! Really unpleasant and unhappy with this place and its stuff! Just stay away

It was ok minus the centipede.

The room was not bad (minus the centipede) and it was quiet.

We were packing up to leave and I was checking the bed and found a centipede under the covers. Not sure if it was there while we were sleeping but it was not a pleasant sign or thought to think that we slept all night with a centipede in bed with us. I told the staff when I was checking out and they asked if it was still in the room. I'm sure it was since I wasn't going to remove it. They said they would go check and see if it was in the room, which didn't really help me out since I was leaving.

Great location with friendly staff and a hearty breakfast

The location allowed easy access to shopping,dining , and especially historic sites. Staff was friendly and helpful especially the assistant general manager, Tapree Turner. Ms. Turner provided locations for dining as well shopping. She provided items that were missing from my room. Breakfast had choices and food was hot and tasty.

I had made a late reservation and I was assigned a handicap room which was spacious, doorways were wide and a wheelchair could be used in the shower. I am not handicapped but my younger brother uses a wheelchair. I usually check sites for him. The shower head would not have worked for him. It was too high for him as he only has 1 leg and he could not have reached it. Also the location of the dishes (above microwave) were not reachable for someone in a wheelchair and only 1 leg.
