Royal Villa Jaisalmer

From the moment we arrived at the Royal Empire Resort, we were enveloped in luxury and elegance. The welcoming staff greeted us with warmth and efficiency, making our check-in seamless. The stunning architecture and intricate designs of the hotel immediately set the tone for a royal experience. Our room was a sanctuary of comfort and opulence, adorned with traditional Rajasthani decor and modern amenities. The attention to detail was impeccable, from the plush bedding to the panoramic view of the majestic Jaisalmer Fort from our window. Cleanliness was top-notch, ensuring a serene and hygienic environment throughout our stay. The resort's culinary offerings were exceptional. We indulged in a variety of delectable dishes at the onsite restaurant, each meal a culinary journey through the rich flavors of Rajasthan. The dining experience was a highlight, offering breathtaking views of the sunset against the backdrop of the desert landscape. The resort's commitment to guest satisfaction was evident in every aspect of our stay. The courteous and knowledgeable staff went above and beyond to cater to our needs, providing personalized service that surpassed our expectations. The rooms were very nice. The AC worked very well. The bed was comfortable and large enough. It was about an 8 minute or so walk to the fort entrance (which I found to be fine and an interesting walk) or a 2-4 minute rickshaw. The rooms are quite good value, R800 (8) a night for a large AC double bedroom with ensuite (at the time) was around the same that you would pay for a slightly less nice room elsewhere in Jaisalmer. The menu was partially restricted due to it being off season and potentially due to the hotels still being in a recovering state after the Coronavirus pandemic. The quality of the room service food was good, especially the egg bhurji. The hotel lobby had a fridge stocked with cold water for R30 each which was very convenient and reasonable (though you can find refrigerated water for R20 at some shops if you search). The hotel allowed me to pay with bank transfer and were accommodating of my repeated extensions to my stay. I also received a free room upgrade for the duration of my stay which was very welcome and I expect they would extend to other guests if the rooms were available. My upgrade was organised by booking (Genius level 3) though I don't know if that actually does anything other than a discount. If you are looking for good, cheap local food there is a nice local restaurant across Gadisar Road called New Rajistani Restaurant (2 min walk) that serves Veg and Non-Veg at reasonable prices (I recommend the veg food or Tandoori Chicken and roti mostly from there). Desert Boy's Dhani (1min walk) serves good tasting food also. If you are interested in a fantastic authentic local thali for R200 (very good value) I recommend the Special Punjabi Restaurant on Fort Road (5min walk) which I enjoyed most with roti and aloo gobi. I went to the Milan restaurant and the Royal Rassoi also for non veg. Both served good food though not as reasonably priced as New Rajasthani Restaurant.
