Best accomodation ever

We loved everything about this home stay. Amazing location. They have a natural swimming pool opposite their accommodation. It's just too good to be true. Very clean and neat room. Bathroom was very clean. Nice hot water for shower. Host both husband and wife his brother, sister in law made sure they came and had a lovely chat with us. Made us feel at ease and welcomed. I wish we would have stayed here longer. If you are coming with family you can book all four bedrooms and can have a family fun time. They also provide BBQ facilities which we witnessed a family enjoying BBQ in beautiful backyard. We will definitely be back at this property as its best place to relax and Rejuvenate. Thanks Sabu and family for looking after us. Stay happy and blessed.

Our favorite homestay in 2 months of travel in India!

Our stay at Riverbench was amazing! We booked it for 3 nights, but right after arriving, we could see how nice and comfortable it was, so we asked to extend our stay for 2 extra nights. Mr. Sabu, Mrs. Mini and their son and daughter-in-law were all so welcoming and friendly! Mrs. Mini's home cooked food was delicious! And the wifi was the best we had in all of India. The beds were very comfortable and big, and it was quiet and nicely dark at night. The location is in a rainforest setting and the view is like something at a fancy luxury resort. You can walk down to the river to swim in a little waterhole, and you can also walk up to a water fall area with big rocks to walk around. One of the days while we were there, we walked the 20 minutes up to the main highway and took a public bus to Munnar to explore there a bit (and buy some chocolate). Otherwise, we just relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed our quiet, low-key days at the house. We highly recommend staying at Riverbench!

Very nice hosts who do make you feel welcome. The room was spacious and clean. Beautiful location, very peaceful and quiet. And there is a natural bath!

The location is pretty far from Munnar so for activities or visiting places you need to book a rickshaw for a day

Amazing location, like in a tropical forest (actually, not "like", but a real rainforest). On our walk nearby we found Jackfruit, coffee, muscat, cocoa beans, papayas and other things growing. Such a relief to be in riverbench after the hectic place like Munnar.

A most hospitable and warm visit to Munnar.

The Riverbench is in a beautiful location with stunning views. The rooms are very spacious with huge beds. The balcony offers a great view. The best thing about our stay was the hospitality of our hosts. Sabu and his family made us feel most welcome. Minis cooking was amazing, real local Keralan food with much of the ingredients from their gardens. This was our first experience of a homestay in India but based on this we will definitely be doing it again!

I very much enjoyed my stay. If you're looking for a remote place with a nice view over a little valley with jungle and the sound of a river in the background, this is for you. But the hospitality of Sabu and Minnie and their family is what actually makes this place special. They are very warm and welcoming and will immediately take care of everything you ask for. Sabu organized a massage for me which was marvelous (if you're looking for the same, ask for Sajesh, a very nice and experienced massage therapist). The food served for breakfast (or lunch or dinner, if you ask for it) was always delicious, you don't really need to look for restaurants. Thank you for everything!

Value for money Superb Homestay

The location was superb. Well maintained rooms with great view. The food was tasty. Value for money. The best part is however the excellent host family. Ever smiling Sabu and his wife Mini and their lovely children. Extended our stay because of these factors. Please don't hesitate to book this accomodation. My only regret is we didn't stay longer.
