The hotel offers daily services and although the br (Read More)eakfast is a bit pricey, it is considered reasonable compared to other meals in Reykjavik. The staff is friendly and the hotel is well-appointed with a beautifully decorated bathhouse in the basement. Overall, it provides a cozy and comfortable stay with a European manor house vibe, complete with a relaxing spa area and fabulous rooms.

Fabulous stay in downtown Reykjavik

Wonderful hotel for staying in Reykjavik, couldn't ask for me. Beautifully presented hotel, very friendly staff, comfortable rooms and beds, fabulous shower, and great facilities for the gym and sauna. Wouldn't think twice about stopping again. Thoroughly recommended!!

While the breakfast was perfectly fine, a little variety wouldn't have gone a miss. Although the quality of everything presented was good.

Good hotel but not good for money

Great location - very central. The interior decoration and vintage design style were quite impressive. The room is spacious with a small balcony

1) Not recommended for people who drive. There's no parking space and you need to walk 10+min for a free parking lot or pay for $100 per day in an underground parking lot. The staff told us it's free to park on Sundays which might not be true 2) The service was fine but we expected a better one given the price we paid. When we were holding food and trying to get into the hotel, the staff refused to buzz us in but asked us to find our room key. 3) Wifi was super slow, no bathtub in the room. 4) Overall we know it's expensive in Iceland, but this hotel isn't ideal re value for money.

Great start and end to a magical honeymoon in Iceland.

We loved everything. We spent our honeymoon here in Iceland and stayed at the Konsulate for a couple of days either side of an 8 day ring road trip and it was the perfect bookends for our trip. We got a little gift on arrival as it was our honeymoon. Staff were super helpful and even though there was a mix up of rooms for our second half of the journey we ended up with a great room again. The bed was so comfortable, one of the most comfortable hotel rooms we have ever stayed in, no issues at all with noise, and as a travelling Coeliac the gluten free options were amazing. The rooms we stayed in were perfect size and loved all the little extras in the room. Thank you for an incredible stay.

Nothing, everything was super. Only tip I would add is if you are needing gluten free break at breakfast make sure to order it as soon as you arrive, we waited almost half an hour for ours at breakfast, but the waitress was so incredibly lovely about it and make up a 'to go' sandwich as we had to run to make it for one of our excursions.
