Ponderosa Lodge is a charming and cozy place situated just a 5-minute drive from downtown Estes. The location is remote enough to provide a peaceful atmosphere with beautiful views of the river. The (Read More)staff, especially the manager Darrell and Katie, were friendly and accommodating. The rooms are comfortable with fireplaces and balconies overlooking the river. Some guests mentioned a lack of accessories for warming up food, but overall, the experience was great with convenient access to nearby attractions like Rocky Mountain National Park.

Quiet and relaxing location

Our room had a wonderful view with the river just outside our door. The location was just outside the RMNP and very quiet. The staff was very nice and we loved being greeted by Aspen everyday. Definitely going to come back.

Wonderful

Super-friendly managers, adorable dog in the hotel lobby, free cookies, all around character. Really cozy room with an electric fireplace. Mountain stream running right by the place. Very quiet in the winter, almost nobody around, no traffic noise. Big hot tub out front. Great coffee in the room. Would gladly stay again.

Not a complaint, but in the summertime I'm sure there's a lot more traffic on that road. (Definitely wasn't loud in the winter, when Estes Park is not busy.)

The lodge is beautiful, loved going outside and listening to the water flowing, so close to RMNP, the lodge was so comfortable & we had the best week

Excellent for a multi-day getaway

Staff was friendly and gave excellent recommendations for the area, taking into consideration the overnight weather changes. We were in room 7 on the 2nd floor: it had a balcony with a river view, fireplace, loveseat, small table with 2 chairs, tv, and a chest of drawers. We also had a coffee maker, microwave, and mini fridge. Everything was very clean, and there were several toiletries stocked in the bathroom. We were just a few minutes from town with short routes to opposite sides of town, and we were very close to the Fall River Entrance of RMNP. We didn't have time to enjoy the hot tub and open area with the fire pit. Parking was limited, but guests seemed to share space respectfully. The wifi worked very well. I received a text before arrival which gave specific directions with photos- very helpful! We checked in after the office closed, and we had no problem collecting our key and information envelope. I wish we could have had more time and look forward to a return visit in the future!

Ponderosa Lodge, Estes Park, and RMNP exceeded all my expectations!

I have to be brutally honest. On a scale of 1-10, you guys rate a 22! The river trickling at my door 24/7 did more than Yeats of therapy could ever do.

That I had to leave! My retirement plan is to sell all that I have and move to.the mountains!
