Good

Quirky place good for a long weekend

Brilliant location and the house itself is very quirky and full of character - the indoor well was a great hit with the kids. Great sized dining table perfect for boardgames, and while ground floor got pretty cold in the evening the heating warmed it quickly. The property is very old so some things are a bit weird, like position of light switches and undulating floorboards, but it adds to the charm! Sound really does travel in the house (as in, you can be in the bedroom above the kitchen and you may as well be in the same room you can hear conversations so well) but again, old property so comes with the territory so didn't put us off. Stairs are incredibly steep and not good for mobility issues. Keys were very easy to find and collect. The alleyway to get to the property's parking space is incredibly tight (our driver scraped the side of their car...) so really do bear that in mind if your car is medium to large. Great for a short stay.

The property could definitely do with a bit of TLC. E.g. a part of the stair carpet has exposed the pins and I stepped on that more that once, and the cooker hood/extractor is broken. The bed on the first floor also offered one of the worst night's sleep I've had, so uncomfortable could not have done more than 3 nights. The kitchen provisions are a bit lacking - e.g. no oven gloves/only one tea towel when you need to wash up by hand, but a giant pestle and mortar. And I absolutely hated that there was zero information/guidance/area/bins for recycling, in 2023 that's not acceptable (the welcome pack even has a subheader 'bins and recycling' and then only provides info on waste)! The living room was great for us (4 adults 2 kids) but there are only 2 two-seater sofas so worth bearing in mind for 6 adults as I imagine you'd have to bring up dining chairs from the ground floor or sit on the small beanbags. Couldn't get stairgates to work properly, we gave up and propped them up instead. Finally, while I'd say the property was surface level clean (bedding, kitchen, bathroom), it wasn't clean-clean. There was a lot of dust, allergies definitely set off more than once. It could probably benefit from a twice a year deep clean given how popular I think the property probably is.

Loved every minute .. home from home

Great location we loved being able to walk out to the shops great access , also close to the beautiful cathedral and located in the most beautiful area stunning .. the hosts are alway friendly and helpful Ive stayed many times and will continue to do so.

An absolutely beautiful cottage right in the heart of a gorgeous part of the city. Easy walking distance to theatres, restaurants, pubs, and bars but so quiet! Cosy, comfortable, and clean. The instructions given by the host are perfect and made for a very smooth stay. As others have mentioned, the parking space is tight but fine if you're in a little car like we were. We'll definitely be back again!

Needed a woman's touch, little things missing like waste paper bins, hand towels, bedside tables, lamps, and mirrors in some bedrooms. Parking very tight, picture gives a wrong impression.
