Former country house once owned by Beatrix Potter, Lindeth Howe retains original character with clean rooms, some single glazed. Excellent service, especially breakfast and dinner. Limited parking, b (Read More)ut well-priced stay with inclusive winter offer. Nearby activities include museums and walks. Safe area for walking. Beautiful hotel with friendly staff, lovely rooms, and good food. Short walk to Bowness. Guests would stay again.

Superb

Exceptional place to retreat for a special occasion.

The atmosphere, deco and surroundings are second to none. The lounge is a great place to rest on a wet day and to chill before the evening meal, which was exceptional. And to top it off the staff were very welcoming and attentive. Thank you.

Would definitely recommend this hotel

Good choice for Breakfast menu. We were upgraded to a superior room so that was a bonus.

It was about 20/25 minute walk into Bowness but still a nice walk.

Lovely hotel, nice for one night stay away.

The property was beautiful. The rooms were comfortable and well maid, and the overall stay was nice.

The service wasnt the best we had to go looking for someone to serve us at the bar a few times, the food was okay, but a little pricey for what it was.

Cosy and relaxing in wonderfully delightful surroundings.

Lovely, stylish country house. We are so happy to have found this lovely place. The big nod to Beatrix Potter was evident and we found that endearing indeed. Each room was colourful and quirky. The ground floor bathroom had a lovely touch to offer ladies some sanitary 'needs'. The toiletries were beautiful and were available in that public ground floor bathroom too.

Aw it was a real shame that the large, formal dining room was set up for all diners to sit so so close together that one could hear other conversations. We were celebrating our 30th anniversary and were reminiscing and wanted to be romantic! This did NOT feel intimate or romantic. When I asked for us to have our breakfast by the lovely large windows in the morning, the waitress said we had to sit in two choices...right next two five other couples and no window table as they were set up for the evening dinner! This was sad as we rarely get to the Lakes anymore and every moment counts. So a lovely view as you take in the ambience and have your morning coffee would have been great...but there's no yielding here in that large room! Shower was terribly hot. We mentioned it as the heating wasn't working when we arrived but was soon resolved once we mentioned it to the reception desk man. The shower was like unbelievably too hot!
