Romantic hotel room, with privacy for my husband and I. Walking distance to everything you need.

The location was great it was a short walk to the shops and restaurants of Carmel, and also a quick walk to the beach. The room was also nicer than I expected. The bedding was soft and clean and the bathroom/shower was nice, clean, and updated. A couple more nice things were that I had a pastry from the continental breakfast that tasted great and the WiFi worked well. Furthermore, they checked us in early, our scheduled check in was three p.m., but Id say they checked us in about an hour early.

I expected the sauna to be a bit larger, and I thought it would be a steamy sauna and not so dry. But that was my fault for getting my expectations so high, because I did remember later that I had read somewhere ahead of time that it was a dry sauna.

Great Location

Very friendly reception staff. Room with a good size and clean. There was no extra charge for parking, which was great as it's hard to find spaces on the street. They offer a small breakfast at reception with croissants, fruit, sweet yogurt, juice, coffee, milk and tea. You can eat at reception or take it to your room on a tray. The location was great.

We went for breakfast at 8:40 (it starts at 8) and there were no more croissants with ham and cheese, there was just 1 plain left and various sweet options. As I have diabetes, I just had a black coffee and we went out for breakfast. So I recommend going early if you want to have all the options. The walls are a little thin, so for people who find it difficult to sleep, this can be a problem.

Comfortable and incredible view/location

We loved the proximity to downtown, room location, parking situation, and overall it was comfy. The bed was shockingly nice and they use pottery barn bedding!

I hated our neighbors. We complained to the front desk 3 times in one night about their screaming child (in the eve and early morning before 9am). Staff did call the room and log our complaints to the guest but it was really disappointing that there was no solution offered regarding relocating us or anything else after calling 3 times in one day. Please do not travel with young children period.

Hofsas House reminds me of an inn in Germany

The breakfast was a typical spread of European pastries, yogurt, fruit, coffee, juice, etc. It was located in the main office by a cute fireplace. They provided trays to take the breakfast to your room.

Charming hotel within walking distance of shops, restaurants and ocean!

Location was great, cleanliness!

Walls were thin, door was thin, you could hear everything. Earplugs at check in would be a great little bonus!

We love the location and the quaint feeling of the hotel. All the staff were very pleasant.

Location was great. Walking distance to shopping, 15 min walk to beach.

Expect an older hotel with older furnishings and you will be happy. Its very clean and they take good care of it. Just older. Maybe throw away the expired (4 months) caramels that you gave us as a honeymoon gift (). But probably an over sight. I would stay here again and again.
