Overpriced and average hotel with awful customer service

The pool is nice and the rooms are clean.

The hotel staff/policy 1. I was asked me to pay my bill in full when I had just arrived. Never at any hotel that I have been to anywhere in the world, have I been asked to pay a bill in full before even seeing a room. 2. I asked the lady at the reception desk if she could call me a taxi one day. She told me that she could provide me a number and I could call them myself. Great way to look after your guests. 3. I was asked at breakfast to pay my bill for breakfast before I had even finished eating. I was genuinely astounded. In the middle of eating an omelette a waiter asked me to pay my breakfast bill. I received no bill or receipt. Just asked to cough up cash before I even finished eating. Paid the bill, still received no receipt. 4. Upon checkout, whilst a taxi was waiting for me, I was asked to wait while house keeping went and checked my room. For what, I have no idea. Needless to say, I did not wait. There are much better places that you can stay in Sri Lanka and probably at a much cheaper cost. The rooms were okay and were clean, however pillows on the bed were genuinely awful, cheap and nasty. If I was returning to Kandy, I definitely wouldnt return.

Great choice

Great location up on hill with sweeping views down on Kandy and the surrounding mountains! 15 min walk to temple of tooth of LKR500 tuk tuk ride. Rooms are well sized with large balconies. Great rooftop for sunset drinks. Breakfasts good, as was the pool which was great after a long day exploring.

The hotel did a job for one night, but definitely not 5 star worthy.

Good location - right by Kandy lake. Food was good.

Reception staff were not at all helpful or accommodating with helping us on making plans or arranging transport to or from the hotel. For a new hotel the Corridors are very old fashioned.

Recommend for a luxury stay in Kandy

The room was splendid, it catered for my needs and more. I ordered room service which was great and arrived quickly. Everything was clean and comfortable.

The price of a small bottle of water compared to external places was silly.

Views of Kandy are beautiful !

Views are magnificent. My family visited for lunch and the restaurant staff looked after us very well. The rice and curry was very authentic. Staff are friendly and helpful. Manager also made a point of asking how my stay was and followed up on some points raised. Reception staff will call a tuk anytime you want to go to town or the temple.

I had no toilet paper in my room. Was not a great start ! I ordered rare steak one night as a treat but was served a medium steak. But the excellent rice and curry the next day more than made up for this. I know that the manager also followed up on this.
