Superb

A magnificent hotel in the heart of Jew Town with great food and staff.

The hotel is magnificent - the photos don't do it justice. The entire place is very grand and the rooms were spectacular. The old school keys were a lovely touch! Excellent bed and bathroom, comfy chairs by the entrance to the rooms to enjoy the evening sun. The restaurant was fab - everything we ate was delicious. The staff couldn't do more for us at reception or in the restaurant. Manu (the owner) was very friendly and knowledgable. Friendly atmosphere all round.

The pool area is a bit ropey - very useable, but hasn't had quite as much love as the other parts of the hotel. We booked massages (which were excellent), but the room they were in wasn't really fit for purpose (i.e. no privacy for the 2 massages happening at once!). The food was spectacular, but there was so much of it that we ended up wasting a lot. At breakfast, I would recommend a menu, so guests can choose what they actually want and not waste things. I gave a good not great for location, as Jewtown is a fair walk to to the action in the heat, but tuktuks are very cheap and accessible, so this isn't a real problem.

An amazing place to stay... more than a hotel...a piece of history with atmosphere and great food.

The location was excellent...an hotel museum with music needed tranquility in a sometimes hectic town. The breakfast and evening meals were excellent... ... beer was available...great staff..so helpful and friendly. Lovely atmosphere. Exception bedroom and bathroom...and a great pool on the roof. Really special place. We were really happy and well looked after.

There were no sun loungers provided as such, but they provided some...and the roof area was a bit rustic...but we didn't really mind. It was hard to find a negative...we were really happy and well looked after.

Great spot

it was unusual. the staff were very accommodating and friendly and the food was great. It is right on the water which is great too and close to all the sights and shops.

No net curtain, if you drew the curtains everyone could see straight into the room, so you need to keep the curtains closed at all times. no place to hang towels in bathroom.

This is wonderful hotel. If you like historic buildings and antique furniture, I highly recommend.

Very friendly staff; they celebrated my husbands birthday with so cute decoration and delicious cake. Cool buildings and interior; the lovely furniture were all wonderful things that were carefully selected. Location; this hotel is easily accessible from sightseeing points. Food; the food in the restaurant was very good.

The rooms are amazing. Extremely spacious. Each room is different. Furnished tastefully with unique antique furniture.. The bathrooms are spotlessly clean with high quality fittings and beds are very comfortable. Waterfront location is picturesque. Restaurant is good. Guest service was excellent.

In the evening after 7 pm the local area closes down and streets are deserted. There are few if any choices for alternative dining.
