Exceptional

A safe and well located guesthouse in Cape Town.

We had a lovely stay at Fernwood. The guest house is big and spacious with great facilities. Our room was very comfortable, the staff were very helpful and the location is perfect if you want to be close to nature but not too far from the city center. We would definitely stay again.

Everything was just right.

Was disappointing. Was expecting 5 star

The rooms are spacious

The carpets were dusty, I have sinus problems so couldnt sleep. Sneezed all night because of the dust. The room deco was outdated didnt feel like a 5 star guest house. The breakfast was very basic.

As seasoned travelers auf Southern Africa and as frequent visitors of Capetown, Fernwood Manor will be THE place to stay

Super friendly staff and landlady. Car-Hiring was organised within one hour. Available Parking Space. Although we arrived in the morning, hours before regular check-in-time after a very long flight, our room was magically prepared and ready within a short time, while we were offered coffee and snacks. Compared to other accommodations in Capetown which might be more upscale and expensive, Fernwood Manor beats them all!

Lovely little hotel

Fernwood was a great overnight hotel, it is within walking distance to the Kirstenbosch botanical gardens. Loved the home like feel of the shared spaces. Our room had a view up the back of Table Mountain.

Not sure it is the best place for a base for exploring Cape Town is a tourist. But a lovely little hotel all the same.

Oasis in leafy Newlands

Leafy location, decent parking, helpful staff, comfy bed, nice pool. Decent sized rooms. I arrived early and they were helpful and put my bags in the room while I went off to a lunch. Nice place.

Some things felt a little dated, but I guess the nature of an old restored home leads to that. No complaints though. Missed out on the hot breakfast as I had to leave early, but the cold breakfast was ample and the croissants fresh & warm.

Exceptional

Beautiful surroundings in a tranquil spot. Emmanuela is the star staff member by far. We were warmly welcomed by her, she has a sparkling personality. Quality of the breakfast was great.

Bathroom a bit old and tired and on the small side for this calibre of accommodation, but not a deal breaker.
