Good

Excellent location and great staff.

The rubbish double glazing, where the wind whistled and some of the rain came through leading to a bad nights sleep.

Pleasant

Needs some maintenance doing.

Staff were lovely. Reception and bar were good. Breakfast room and breakfast were excellent.

Realise we paid a premium price for the sea view but the state of the peeling paint on the window frames was not good and ruined that sea view! Wet room bathroom was a good idea in theory but it didn't work as the whole bathroom got soaked, even the toilet roll got soggy!

A fabulous stay in inviting and quiet surroundings

Size of rooms fabulous bath and bath products, quiet and an excellent sized hotel. The bar was comfortable and inviting and we were within walking distance of many of the things we wished to do, staff were friendly and helpful. The water was really hot and the air con excellent.

Information in the room would have been useful on arrival.

Superb

Great location, restaurant did an amazing breakfast, staff super friendly.

I really didn't like the glass doors to the bathroom, no privacy, also I know we asked for the attic room, but there was over 80 steps, even more when you went down for breakfast.

Welcome was great - warm, genuine. Location was great Available parking was a bonus Room was clean and warm Nice selection of shower gels etc..

Room was dated (1980/90s) Soft furnishings were clean but tired. Bed had a duvet under the bedsheet, not a decent topper. It was not comfortable. Breakfast - the jazz/easy listening music was too loud, the coffee was very weak, missing black pudding and not enough butter for the toast. The blonde waitress was loud (maybe because of the music volume) and the coughing and nose blowing meant we did not have breakfast there the second morning.

Very good

Other than the poor state of the windows, we had a lovely stay.

Location is great, ideal for wandering around The Lanes

The hotel is looking somewhat tired in the room we had, the windows are in serious need of repair, paint wood needs redoing & looks like the wood could possibly be breaking up, very bad condensation in the morning with a pool of water. We had a Seaview room but could not see out until we had cleaned the window of water & condensation.

Friendly staff, excellent service, beautiful room!

The staff was extra friendly! The room was so beautiful and we had a lovely time there even though we only stayed for one night! I would 100% go back and also recommend this place to our friends and family.

We liked EVERYTHING!! There is nothing to dislike!

Superb

An extremely enjoyable weekend.

We had a fantastic stay at Drakes Hotel. It is positioned within easy walking distance of the town centre, the pier and facing the beach. It has very good and friendly staff, a lovely little bar and lounge for guests overlooking the seafront; and the room we had was very reasonably priced when comparing to other Brighton venues. I was informed the hotel has recently been bought and will be refurbishing the hotel, so all the above may well change!
