The Citrus Hotel Johor Bahru is a small, newly refurbished hotel with small rooms. The staff is nice and the cleaning service lady is kind. The location is convenient for train travelers but is in a (Read More)seedy part of JB City. There is no on-site parking and few eateries nearby. Safety precautions should be taken. Overall, the hotel is affordable and strategically located, with nearby activities and attractions. The hotel is a bit old, with humid carpet in the hallway, but the staff and location make it worth considering for future stays in JB.

Exceptional

Location is great, right beside CIQ and malls. The rooms was cozy and affordable price.To my surprised, when I checked in, the reception lady had upgrade me to a bigger rooms executive suite. Very much appreciated. Recommend to families!!

The close proximity to the malls

It was noisy throughout the day. The honking and engine noise of motorcycles kept me awake, couldnt sleep well. Sound proofing was poor. The lower the floor, the noisier it was. We were on 2nd floor initially then the high floor. Ben linen needs to be replaced with new ones. They were paper thin and looked manky. Unsure if our linen was changed or not, but the pillows reeked and out of shape. Bed and pillows were soft to our dislike.

This my second time stay with this hotel..1st time I book deluxe room the room is very clean.. this time I book family room the floor abit sticky the the fridge not working..for the price $102 per nite not worth for this condition..

Booking.com should take this serious

The mall and markets

Terrible smell, mould, entrance carpet into level 2 was mouldy, smelly. People smoking, food was terrible. Toilets smelly that made us sick. Couldn't go out after 7pm as alot of trannies come out making it awkward to walk through. Alot of drunkard and homeless walking around. I don't blame citrus hotel staff as they are working hard ppl but booking.com should take serious measures to make sure these places don't exist on their site so ppl don't experience such horrible places.
