Would come back and Recomended to others.

The reception staff were friendly welcoming and helpful. The room was small but clean and comfortable. Grounds are pleasant around the hotel. Breakfast fruit salad replenished when asked if there was any more.

The staff in the dining area serving breakfast were young and unaware of social etiquette. For example waiter dropped spoon and put it back on the table. I mentioned it and he still tried to place same spoon on table untill i mentioned a second time. Then he argued that it wasnt that spoon but a different spoon which had been dropped. Then left and returned 4 seconds later , obviously with same spoon he had dropped. An older person would have more common sense. In general I find the service received is better with older staff but there seems to be a tendency to employ younger people, probably because of lower salary expectations, but many of us notice and dont appreciate the lower standard of service. This is a generalisation of course and some are fine.

Superb

The perfect leisure break, warm, helpful staff, great facilities, cleanliness & food.

We received the warmest of welcomes, with information provided about all the facilities open for us to make use of. We made use of the leisure facilities, pool & lovely steam room. We ate heartily in the hotel pub which had a good atmosphere.

On poolside, in the chill out area, where the loungers are, the ceiling has flaky paint.

Hotel was clean and comfortable, staff were friendly. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of parking spaces too.

Alexanders was a disaster.. We booked a time to eat but were told they are running late which I quess can happen but were sat down anyway?? We ordered our starters and they arrived exactly 1 hour later but one was a wrong order.. Our mains came after 1 hour 40 minutes from ordering.....considering tables are booked in advance and they would know how busy they would be service was terrible on the night... Also advertised as a pub but actually far from that, it was a restaurant with a bar, nothing like would expect from a pub.

Great staff that couldnt do enough for you, excellent pool, sadly let down by the food for us.

Pool and steam room excellent. Great staff couldnt do enough for you.

Cooked breakfast was average, for a 4 star hotel would prefer fresh cooked brought to table not buffet style, also side plates are used for your cooked breakfast meaning you have to pile your breakfast items on top of each other. We stayed for Christmas and had Christmas dinner there we found this way over priced for the quality you got at 110 a head and came away a little disappointed.

We would not stay again

Some of the staff were pleasant to deal with, the grounds were lovely and the room we stayed in was nice. The beds were comfy and it was quiet.

The hotel seemed under staffed, both places where you could eat were delayed and staff were rushing around. Alexanders pub was very bad with staffing, it took us over 2 hours to have a meal a dessert. The phone in the room wouldnt call to any of the numbers given. The price f a glass of wine was far too much at 13 a glass.

Very good

Excellent staff. Good festive atmosphere.

Staff very polite cheerful and attentive. Attractive grounds with ample parking. Bathrooms beautifully appointed, and spotless.

Spent 3 days over Christmas, very festive, but thought the restaurant was overcrowded . For the high cost of the Xmas lunch meal, I had expected less tables crammed together.
