The Carmel Mission Inn is a nice and relaxing place with a comfortable restaurant. The rooms are nice and the beds are comfortable, although the pillows may be too thick. The hotel is conveniently lo (Read More)cated near the beach and shops/restaurants in Carmel. The heated pool and hot tub are enjoyable, although the hot tub could be cleaner. There is a small shopping plaza nearby and the hotel offers a restaurant and bar. Some guests found the walls to be thin, but overall, it is a cozy and quiet hotel with good amenities. The staff could be better trained, but the facility is beautiful and the receptionist was kind. The rooms are clean, well-equipped, and safe.

Very relaxful.

Cleanliness and comfortable rooms. Location was good, just off 1, right next to shopping, restaurants etc.

Maybe more menu selections at the hotel restaurant. Service was a little slow but we werent in any rush to get anywhere so wasnt too big of a problem.

$100 surprise charge for service dogs. Do not come with pets.

Property is nice. Modern, clean. A bit removed from downtown so youll have to Uber into the city if its cold or rainy.

The Inn claims to be dog friendly, but theyll charge you $100 out of nowhere if you actually choose to come with a dog. This is not announced before checkin or during booking. We had our service dog and we were charged a pet fee after the fact. During checking they ask you about the dog and the page says if you dont mention your dog we might charge you $100 what they dont tell you is that they charge that even if you let them know. When booking and even when checking in there is no warning.

Id stay again, it was a great location Id just ask to not be near the elevator

The location was close to everything

Not the property itself, the location of the room they gave me was terrible. It was next to the elevators and I could hear people all night. There were a lot of groups of people going back n forth and it was really loud.

MUSTY, COLD and OVERPRICED

The staff tried hard to better a terrible situation.

BOTH rooms, we tried two were terrible. The first room was on the 4th floor with a balcony that looked at a roof, was musty. The second room, had no balcony but was the same price?? looked at a canopy no view, no break on the price at all. BOTH of the heaters were the 50's still old old heater that doesn't work, this is a MOTEL, so the door goes right to the outside it is FREEZING COLD, with concrete walls. The decor is adorable, it is clean, but it just doesn't make up for a cold room when you have to SLEEP IN YOUR CLOTHES and get two extra blankets. Luckily they had a space heater, but that was LOUD and roared al night long, and we barely slept at all. Then when checking out, they didn't;t print a bill, they emailed it.... but I thought I should ask for a printed copy.. good thing I did. There was a $100 charge plus fees for a PET charge. I had not dog with me. Hmmmm, why would they automatically put a pet fee on the room? On top of ALL of this, they not ONE offered us a discount on the rooms for any of the inconveniences we had, we paid over three hundred dollars to freeze all night long, get no rest. The other thing about this hotel is... check in is at 4 pm and check out is at 11 am..... they sure do not want you to stay very long. Lot's of money but don't stay long, don't enjoy yourself....... Never stay here again, not even in the summer, the rooms will STILL be musty.
