DO NOT STAY HERE-the roof of our room collapsed due to the dampness, and fungus in the walls

We had a horrible and extremely unsafe experience at the property.

On arrival the whole hotel smelt EXTREMELY damp. The smell in our room was even worse and we had to ask for a dehumidifier. And then- the roof of our room collapsed due to the dampness, and fungus in the walls!!!!! This is the most UNSAFE and horrible experience I have ever had at a hotel. The staff did nothing to reassure us except move us to a different room which smelt even worse. We had to carry our luggage ourselves. They didn't even bother to offer a refund or any sort of apology. This is a very serious health and safety issue that needs to be addressed by the owners before someone gets seriously hurt or unwell. Please see the photos I have attached.

We would definitely return and stay at the Bastion .

The staff was exceptional! They were attentive to our needs; always friendly, extremely prompt in addressing any of our needs. The breakfasts were wonderful and very generous. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and the food was excellent. We cant say enough about the staff at the pool . They were terrific.

The design of the hotel is beautiful. Our room was located on the lower level facing the little pool . Lovely , but it rained and our room had water coming in. As a result, the room felt muggy.

overall, we had a great time with friends and liked the hotel. We will come back again.

breakfast - good variety of fresh fruits and delicious food. Pool is good, but not deep, about 4 feet only. Water is very warm. Location is excellent, inside of the city wall, closed to all historical attractions. Room service is good.

During the check in we had only two big towels in the bathroom, required to bring hand and face towels as well. These towels were never replaced for a fresh or dry ones. There are not extra hooks the bathroom to dry towels after use or hang changing clothes.

A very pleasant stay

Very friendly and accommodating. Good location

At the end of my stay, when I checked out, I noticed that I got charged a fee of US $ 1/ per day and /person. When I mentioned that this fee was nowhere mentioned in advance, they countered that this was voluntarily. It was not so much the amount (that I paid) but the practice., that was contrary to the rest of my experience: exemplary!
