Superb

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Woodlands and would happily stay again.

A fine old house, with character. Exceptionally friendly staff, ready to help with any requests. A well-stocked bar in the television lounge beside reception.

No lift, but not to be expected either in this type of property - and the staff member on duty was more than willing to carry heavy suitcases up for us. The mattress was a bit lumpy and the bathroom is due for modernisation, but the room was quiet and clean.

We found the Woodlands to be close in price to the vastly inferior Travelodge and Marstons offerings locally for our ch

Really spacious room with well chosen furniture and restful decor. Good quality bedding and every room amenity you could possibly need. Well stocked tea tray, piping hot shower and wonderfully welcoming staff who went the extra mile. We also enjoyed breakfast within our rate. Plenty of parking and a short walk into town.

As its a traditional period property, guests in the Executive rooms may benefit from taking ear plugs if they wish to sleep in a little, as although the rooms are generally super quiet the corridor and bedroom floorboards are wonderfully creaky which may wake lighter sleepers if other guests are up early. A very minor point.

all in all a plesant stay but room was a bit chilly

all the staff was polite and helpful breakfast was great and was promptly served

the heating in the room was only turned on when we arrived so the room was chilly for a while the bathroom was looking a bit tired but was clean the heating was turned off during the night leaving the room a bit chilly

Very good

Overall a good stay and the staff very helpful but would recommend that the hotel was updated

Decor needs updating and some carpets worn thread bear . better lighting on some of the stairways

Very poor communication

Did not stay in this hotel l arrived at the hotel to be told that there was a problem with the room that I had booked, the manager said that he had been trying to phone me for two days but had the wrong number but he had my email address too so he could have sent me an email update ? I had to go to the Travelodge for my stay but I had to pay the manager of the Woodlands hotel , l was coming to Spalding for a family funeral the reason l chose the woodlands was it was very near the cemetery l had to get a taxi from the woodlands hotel to the travel lodge and stay there for two days with out breakfast as l had payed the many of the woodlands for bed and breakfast for two days l also had to get taxis to the cemetery and back this was also extra money and cost for me so my thoughts on the Woodlands hotel is it is vey poor management communication Mr Calvey
