Disappointing

Location and character

I was disappointed in the breakfast (one pastry and a coffee) . Staff seemed to be struggling with getting things like key cards and parking to work.

Highly recommend a stay, central, great accommodation and excellent staff

Chosen for the location and history, over impressed with staff - reception and bar/breakfast and rooms were outstanding. Great design of modern with original features, comfortable bed, high end amenities.

Nice rooms. Spacious and lovely furnishings. Amazing location next to Fremantle Market.

No gym or pool facility at the hotel. The coffee was great at Gimlet but would have preferred other breakfast food options with possible fresh fruit and eggs instead off just pastries

Lovely stay in central Fremantle.

Location is excellent for exploring Fremantle, no need for a car. Great to stay in a beautifully renovated old building. Loved the gin bar and restaurant on site. Enjoyed the complimentary mini bar, evening drinks and brekky from Gimlet. Bed very comfy, great shower.

Theres nothing we didnt like but it would have been nice to have a small lounge or two arm chairs in the kitchen area. Also would be handy if the room key worked on the front door into the cottage as well. It didnt worry us but there is some noise from the restaurant if you stay in the ground floor rooms in building one. Can also hear the people upstairs walking around.

The little things let you down

Location and room. Emily restaurant excellent with nicely spaced tables and a really warm and welcoming staff, who were very professional in the way they delivered the service.

Chairs both inside and in our courtyard are grossly uncomfortable. Couldn't relax to read without suffering extreme dis comfort. There were two of us, yet the mini bar provided only one miniature bottle of white wine. It provided two of all the sugary drinks. We didn't avail ourselves of it at all. 'Free' is all very well, but the miserable choices let you down. The breakfast was minimal, but with good quality pastries. We requested breakfast in our room on only one occasion, as we had an early train to catch. We chose the earliest option on the card, which was 7 a.m. Breakfast didn't arrive. I had to go to Cafe at 7.15 and bring it back myself. When I challenged this error, I was told by staff that they only open at 7 a.m. Why then offer the option of delivery to room at 7 a.m. if this is not possible? The space for clothes is very tight. We were there for a week and we had to leave most of our clothes in suitcases. For the price you charge, you need to improve your comfort and service. It felt like the hotel is managed by an accountant rather than by someone who is cognisant of customers' comfort and needs. I was planning another trip to Fremantle next year en route to Europe and on our return from Europe for a few days' stay. Our overall experience would not encourage us to rebook with you. It's a shame, really, as it is the little things that let you down.

Superb

It was quite a treat for us.

The location is incredible, the history of the cottages are fascinating, comfy bed and all the amenities needed for an overnight stay. I wish we had a longer visit.
