Exceptional

Perfect little find in the city centre

Wow ! What a perfect little find. We have stayed in the city numerous times but this is by far the best little hotel . The cafe downstairs was beautiful, with the best coffee . The staff were so helpful and really made us welcome. The rooms were so nice we actually thought about moving into the one on the first floor

Disappointing

Stressful and disappointing.

Location Good. The room itself was lovely, very clean and quality bed linen, quality soaps in the bathroom, lovely scented diffuser, good tea and coffee provision

We were emailed the directions to the car park (which is not obvious) very late in the day so we had to find a car park in the city first then navigate the car park. The entry code didn't work and we spent ages trying to get in to property which is not managed. After a considerable time the code was reset and we were able to get into the building. The TV didn't work. The shower wouldn't turn on eventually in the morning we got it to turn on only to find we couldn't turn it off. Although many emails were sent (and answered to be fair) no contact number was available except for the cafe below which was closed and therefore not manned. It was the most stressful overnight stay we have experienced. . It is more an air bnb. which is not what we were expecting. By the time a member of staff had arrived at 9am in the morning we were packed and left. The staff member was very pleasant throughout but sorting the issues were obviously not satisfactory and they weren't sorted during the time of our stay. It was extremely stressful. This was a last minute planned de-stressor which did not go to plan.

Disappointing

Close but no cigar.

Very good location with just a quick walk into town. The room was nicely furnished. Lots of restaurants nearby.

Something was wrong with the heating and hot water, it was warmer in the hall than our room. There was no hot water from the shower. When I texted the owner, I was told, "The taps should be labelled correctly, but if there aren't any labels on as they may have come off then they are the opposite way round." It's not our first stay at a hotel; we could work out to try the taps in different combinations! Then when I complained about the stay I had no response. Finally, the bed was very soft.

Overall it was OK.

Location was good for the town centre. Everything was very clean. The bed was very comfortable.

There was a problem with the front door key when we arrived at 3 p.m. so we weren't given one. I was told that one would be placed in the key safe by the time we returned at 10 p.m. and I would be sent the code by text. By 4.45 I hadn't heard anything so phoned twice as had visions of returning to the property and not being able to get in and no number to call for help. The room was cold at 10 p.m. when we returned but heating came on in the middle of the night and it was very hot. The TV didn't work and we spent half an hour having to retune it and all the channels.

Very good

Xmas market stay and hope to stay there again

Very clean and nice and quiet. Location good too.

The property itself is lovely. Maybe a plug in heater or radiator could be provided when weather is freezing cold. When booking-Mention was made of Freds next door for breakfast etc. possibly affiliated to @33? This was the only disappointment. We had pre booked a table for breakfast. When we went down for 9.30am on one of the coldest days so far this year, it was freezing in there, there were no menus on the tables and so we looked online at the menu to decide what to have. When a staff member came to take the order-she could see we were choosing from the online menu and then informed us that they had lost their chef, so could only offer us a few very limited things. So we ordered a bacon and sausage bap. It came out barely warm. We felt 19.50 for 2 barely warm baps, an apple juice and a cup of tea was rather excessive. May be not advertise Freds so much on the boutique hotel booking sites.
