Great location, good breakfast but a little dated

The location was great at the front and the room was functional and comfortable enough and the breakfast well cooked. The bar looked good and there is a great Italian right next door.

Its a little dated in decor but not a great problem as the location, bar and breakfast make it great value despite it needing a little piped music in the breakfast room to make an atmosphere perhaps

Superb

Lovely location on Penzance promenade

Lovely location, the single rooms with sea view were very comfortable. Decor is slightly dated but it felt part of the character of the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was good, nice breakfast, reasonable priced lunch was very tasty.

Very good

Good option with character on Penzance seafront

Stayed 5 nights in early December. Smooth check in and out. Friendly, helpful, polite staff. Hotel dates from 1862 so has some character. Room was well heated, clean, tidy and spacious with the usual facilities. Excellent sea view. Well located across from the sea. 10-15 minutes walk to high street, train station and Newlyn. Some bus transport out front. Excellent breakfast available. Plenty of transport from Penzance to sights like Mousehole, Lands End, Porthcurno, St MIchael's Mount, St Ives.

Everything was pretty good except the hot water was a bit temperamental. Staff offered us another room but it wasn't really worth the effort of moving.
