Exceptional

Would definitely stay again.

We loved the property. We had read the previous reviews which sounded exactly what we hoped for. We weren't disappointed. The accommodation was perfect for us and the village is quiet, lovely and friendly. Caldbeck is well placed for the hiking routes we had planned. The local pub, tearooms and shop are all within walking distance and there is an unmanned facility for buying fresh milk and milkshakes.

A very comfortable stay in a quirky upside down cottage. Will definitely be back

It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Although we were only staying for one night, there were enough breakfast provisions for a bowl of porridge and a cafetiere of coffee. A nice touch!

Lovely stand alone building as you come into Caldbeck with parking outside. In a very quiet location overlooking a field of gorgeous cows. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook for ourselves a couple of nights. Filter coffee and plunger were a lovely touch. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Host was very quick to respond to messages.

Shower wasn't very powerful, but the water pressure in the taps was too high. Sofa was not very comfortable.

Relaxing and comfortable

Location was brilliant. Quiet but only a 5 minute walk to the pub, shops and fresh milk vending machine! View from the lounge window was great. Very comfortable stay.

Post code is insufficient to find property. What 3 Word is decoded.lightly.sparks that will get you to the front door. If you are sensitive to noise you can hear the humming of the fridge in the bedroom (but it wasnt too bad and wouldnt put me off returning)

Cute quirky cottage.

For a one night stay the property had everything we required. I liked the historical photos & local history books. Spacious rooms. Quirky property that we saw on the internet when it was for sale before it was converted; the owners have done a great job & we would stay again. Very central for food, drink, walks. There is a milk vending machine a short walk away where there is also butter, eggs & cheese available. The bacon was sold out. Can recommend Oddfellows & The Muddy Duck for food.

The used sponge in the kitchen was horrid! Either leave a new one for guests or don't bother, very unhygienic. The blue wooden chairs weren't comfortable, the back is loose on one of them & needs repairing. The staircase handrail has a sticky feel, maybe just needs a wipe? Because people park their cars very close to the property & as its a bedroom and bathroom downstairs, some kind of privacy film on the bedroom & entrance windows would be nice as I felt someone could peer in at anytime so kept the bedroom curtain closed.

Location. Ideally placed for easy stroll into village centre with lovely pub and a few little shops and a couple of cafes where I spenta very relaxing day. Well placed on Cumbrian Way for hubby who was doing this long distance walk. Lovely to have our own sitting room and kitchen!
